Chef T's is yet another BBQ diner off route 431. It isn't the worst BBQ I've had nor the best! It's good tho and I did enjoy it. The best part of this diner was the genuine southern hospitality the staff greeted me with throughout my experience. The chef even came out from the kitchen to make sure everything was okay. The menu is priced at a steal if you're looking for a quick cheap meal on the go.
Always great food and desserts. Service was very kind. My son loved the salmon patty. One of my group said the chicken tenders was great, and I was very pleased with the open faced hamburger steak with gravy, Swiss cheese, and mushrooms.
First chicken gizzards are hard to find but good gizzards are even harder to find. This place has some of the most tender gizzards I have ever had. Their fried green tomatoes were perfect Southern made. Can't beat the price to quantity food ratio. Great place to eat.
Wow! So glad we finally found our way into Chef T's! What a hidden gem! The service was outstanding and the food was even better! Had the beef liver and onions with mashed potatoes and Cole slaw! Liver was tender and gravy was hot and tasty! Mashed taters wer good and the slaw was outstanding! Easy to tell that Chef made his own slaw dressing. It was just sweet enough! Wife had chopped pork BBQ with fries and baked beans. Gotta say, she ate it all but some fries. And I tried the baked beans and man, they were perfect. A few onions and a spices sweet taste that I could not figure out. Really good! Got a piece of homemade Pecan pie to take with me for later. Looks amazing also! Y'all really need to try Chef T's in Alexandria Alabama! It is the best!
I got the gizzards plate with collards and pasta salad, a roll and a cornbread muffin. Overall, an 8.5/10 experience. While the outside could’ve been a bit crunchier, these were the most tender gizzards I’ve ever had. The pasta salad tasted phenomenal, though it was a bit too soft and wet for my preference. The greens could use more flavor (easily fixed with hot sauce), but their texture was perfect. I also liked the roll, though I found the cornbread to be too dry. It was a lively place. The service (Shawn) was great and you could tell the workers have built relationships with the regulars. I will be visiting again!
Truly the best food we’ve had since we moved here a year ago. Excellent waitress. Kind and hard working. Food excellent. Place was clean.
Food was just wonderful. Best skillet fried catfish I have ever had in a long time. I was highly motivated to visit, and I was not in anyway disappointed. Highly recommend the fried mushrooms with a catfish plate. Amazing for the price. I wish I took pictures...
Today was my first time visiting Chef T’s and as soon as I stepped through the door, I felt at home. Everyone was warm and friendly, polite and genuine.
They have a sign up that says to expect a 15-30 minute wait however 1) For a Saturday morning with several people seated inside, the wait for the food was maybe and I mean MAYBE 15 mins and 2) the atmosphere was so welcoming, I could’ve waited twice as long and not even noticed.
I ordered 2 Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Home Fries, and Biscuits and gravy.
Let me tell you, I haven’t had a good down home breakfast at my grandparents house on a weekend in many moons, but that’s the only way I can explain how the food tastes.
Do yourself a favor and skip the big box fast food and treat yourself to a place that knows what southern hospitality means.
