Haven’t been in for a while but it seems to have been remodeled and it’s quite lovely. They have THE BEST Mediterranean food in Peoria. They staff is always so friendly & very efficient. You can call to place a pick up or of course dine in. Ordered a gyro and had them split it to share with my daughter. More than enough for us both. Offer bakery items too. Have had their salads in the past and are amazing as well. Highly recommend.
First time here yesterday and if I could give 10000/10 I would. The son made us feel so welcome and gave us even a free appetizer to try. I missed this food so much while live in Chicago and I am glad to have somewhere around here that has it. It was the best chicken shawarma sandwhich I’ve ever had. Will be a regular and be back again! The food is made fresh and they even have homemade pita bread!
I had a gyro and, as someone who loves gyros, I can attest that this was the best gyro I’ve ever had. One gyro was actually FOUR meals for me! I bought extra homemade pitas (they’re INCREDIBLE) and I just finished everything - FOUR MEALS WORTH! The owner was super nice, everything was clean, and the food is GREAT! We’re from Cedar Rapids, Iowa but we’ve already talked about driving back down to Peoria just to eat this delicious food! One of my photos is what it looked like when I got my gyro, the second photo is after I had already eaten two fun meals - I still had that much left!

My new favorite place! I got the chicken shawarma platter with a side salad and hummus. It comes with rice under the chicken and 3 big pieces of pita and the BEST garlic dip!!!! I could literally eat this every day. The place is an order at the counter and seat yourself type of place, casual but cute. Not a huge place but great for small group or take out. 100% recommend!
The food at Chef Moussa is different than other similar restaurants in town, and in a good way. My go to is the chicken shawarma sandwich, which has a fantastic seasoning blend. The bread is far better than other places where you get a standard, mass produced pita bread, which isn't fitting for a shawarma sandwich. It's also a massive serving size. This is mostly a carry out joint but with a comfortable, crisp, and clean fast food dine-in atmosphere if you wish to eat it there. The staff are always very friendly and the prices are on point.
The food was incredible! The pita bread was steaming, the falafel was crispy, the tabouleh was fresh, the hummus was creamy. I absolutely loved everything!
The service was phenomenal. All three individuals we interacted with were genuinely friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back even though it’s 45 minutes from where we live.

Every item is fresh and tasty. I really like the sauce they put in chicken shawarma. The chicken is always juicy and cooked to perfection.

Authentic. Fresh. Hot. Delicious. Our first time visiting and it won't be our last. If you have a mixed family (some vegan and some meat-eating) this is the place to go. They had a lot of vegan selections (clearly marked with a "V" on the menu). The portions were generous and the food tasted amazing. Best hummus I've ever had and the baba ganoush was perfect. We each got a sandwich, plus the vegetarian sampler. We wanted to try a little of everything. We took plenty home lunch the next day. The staff was super friendly and very helpful in us making our selections. The interior is a little small if you have a large party, but you could always get your food "to go". It feels like a small-town diner where they are going to remember you the next time you visit. We will definitely be back again.
