First time dining here and having Uzbek cuisine. The menu reminded us of Turkish food and a mix of Russian influences. The ingredients tasted fresh and seasoned well. We especially liked that there was a lot if vegetable choices. The boiled cabbage was very good!
Overall experience was delightful. We liked the Tashkent tea - it was our first time trying it. It has a lemony, floral taste. The mint and lemon reminded us of bergamot and lemon verbena.
The highlight of our evening was the honey cake. Just get it. You won't be disappointed.
We really liked this restaurant! Unassuming from the outside, tucked in a plaza alongside Tamiami Trail, this place was a real find! They have delicious eastern European dishes from Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Georgia, and Armenia. We tried quite a few dishes, and the Chebureki, Lagman, and Borscht were real standouts, but we enjoyed just about everything that we tried.
Real cozy and welcoming decor, and the service here was great! Our server Olga was very friendly and attentive. They also had live music on Saturday night, which was a really nice addition to our evening.

I visited a restaurant which had a nice atmosphere with live Russian as well as recorded music. The volume of the music was perfect, not too loud, which added to my enjoyment of the ambiance. As a vegetarian, I asked the waitress about the vegetarian options available and she recommended the Draniki (Potato Pancakes) which were described as Grated Potato Hashbrowns, Fresh Herbs & Sour Cream, and confirmed that they did not contain any meat. I ordered the Draniki accordingly.
However, when I received the dish, it was in a pot and did not look like traditional pancakes. I assumed it was a new and unique dish from Uzbekistan. Only after I started eating did I realize it had meat in it. I called the waitress to inform her about the issue, and she agreed to replace the dish with a vegetarian one. After a 20-minute wait, I received a new version of the Draniki, which looked like traditional pancakes and contained no meat.
I noticed that the menu mentioned "Fresh Herbs," which were not included in the dish. When I asked the waitress about it, she brought me the herbs. Initially, the waitress informed me that I would be charged for the replacement of the Draniki, which I agreed to, even though I felt that they should not have charged me for their mistake - firstly for telling me that it was a vegetarian dish and secondly for not mentioning that the dish contained meat.
After a while, the waitress informed me that I would not be charged for the replacement dish. However, when I asked for the herbs, they informed me that I would be charged for the dish. In the end, I was charged for the Draniki.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience for me, especially charge/no charge/and then back to charge, even though it was complete their fall.
The food is spectacular, the atmosphere is very cozy, and the service is very friendly and accommodating.
It is a great place for people who like to try new cuisines and appreciate different cultures.
I definitely recommended the Medovik (Honey) cake and the Khachapuri
We had the best New Year' s Eve celebration in January 13th, 2024 when we randomly walked into the restaurant on a Saturday evening. We suddenly found ourselves among the local Uzbek community that was celebrating their New Year's Eve with live music, happy dances and lots of food. Not only the Uzbek kitchen is fantastic but their service is amazing too. It was a very busy evening but we got the best of everything from Maria who is the owner of this restaurant.
Delicious, hearty, home cooked with love. Nice decor, friendly servers. One of my new favorite restaurants in Sarasota.
Great lamb and side dishes. Try the soups and appetizers! All the food we had were new experiences for us and we loved every single one. Highly recommend! Oh, and don’t forget to end the evening with a satisfying slice of honey cake.
Such a good food ! Best service! Great atmosphere! Will definitely come back !
