The food here is absolutely fantastic, the best flavor and most authentic Mexican food I have tried in this area. But their prices are absolutely horrible compared to competitors. Most dishes were over 15 dollars and for a local Mexican restaurant in this area that is very expensive (and we went for lunch). That being said, it was 100 percent worth it. Their salsa was perfect, their Chile Relleno was fantastic and their Quesabirria tacos were juicy and tasty. We will 100 percent be back, and probably plenty of times, but our wallet will not come out very happy.
The Mexican Street Tacos were very good. The Mineras-Cheese Enchiladas was a good dish. We enjoyed the flavor of what seemed to be their homemade salsa hot and mild. However their exemplary service is what made the entire so great. They were busy and had very few staff yet they were very attentive and pleasant which is rare nowadays. It was late I ordered coffee with cream. The young man apologized that they only had milk… no problem for me. When they brought my coffee in and earthenware mug they also brought a small pitcher of milk that they had taken the time to take the chill from. That coffee was fantastic!! It was still warm throughout my meal. Smiles and thoughtful acts can make the meal so much more pleasant. Thank you

Torta Cubana is HUGE and is my absolute favorite. This is by far my favorite place to come get a torta in SOUTH WEST MISSOURI.
The salsa is also my favorite regular salsa with chips. It is fresh and has good ingredients in it. Not like competitors that have more like marinara sauce. This one is definitely SALSA!

True authentic Mexican food, large portions. The lamb didn't have any gamy taste, very good. Definitely get the sopapillas with ice cream and strawberries. It was hot and cold at the same time, perfect!
Easily the best salsa and chips and queso in the area. I had chicken enchiladas and my husband had the chimichanga. We ate everything and felt so stuffed but man it was worth it!!! Definitely going again next date night!
A good choice for delicious lunch. Food is well made and they offer an impressive selection of salsas to satisfy all levels of bravery. Very kind waitress and perfectly fizzy soft drinks.
Chavela's Mexican Cuisine did not disappoint! Our family of five all ordered different dishes and every single one was fantastic, including the beans and rice. We have been to many Mexican restaurants-- some add flavor by piling cheese, while others just lack flavor because of insufficient spices and seasonings. But every aspect of Chavela's was full of flavor and beautifully crafted. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area. The staff was super attentive and agreeable as well. 5/5!
