Stopped in for lunch today, very nice place. Our server was super friendly. We were very happy to see they have vegan cheese available, so we ordered a pizza (which we can't usually as my wife is lactose intolerant). It was phenomenal. The sauce is incredible, lots of flavor. We definitely will be back.
Really good deep dish pizza.. flavorful sauce and good toppings! Had the pretzel starter that has an incredible savory dip. Highly recommend both! Dinning area with a upscale yet friendly atmosphere. Back house is a fun Karaoke spot with a speakeasy feel. Check it out.
I love it here. Been here like 3-4 times now and it doesn't disappoint.
I've gotten great beer and burgers here!
The burgers are delicious and have really good flavor. They know what they are doing for the crowd who needs that great bar food and service.

We decided to go here for open mic to support our friends and the front bar staff were fantastic and incredibly timely. However the back where open mic happens unfortunately left us so incredibly disappointed we won’t be going here again. The man who runs it had very strict rules that seemed to take away of the charm of going to an open mic to celebrate others and creativity.
PSA IF YOU ARE WANTING TO DO OPEN MIC HERE;
1. You are timed and only have 12 minutes (this includes you setting up on stage) but rules exclude the guy running it. He puts a timer up so you are very well aware
2. There’s a volume level
The place itself is cozy and definitely reminds me of good ole dive bar. My only recommendation would be to have someone run open mic that is a little less worried about control and more concerned about celebrating the diverse talent that comes in. Maybe limit people to three songs if it’s that big of a deal??
Classic neighborhood bar with a cool art deco vibe. My old fashioned was good, not too sweet. Their loaded macaroni and cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had. The people were friendly, and I appreciated how it was busy but not excessively loud.
Chatterbox is actually one of the most amazing places in Minneapolis. South Minneapolis for sure, but this is a temporary and very true review of my latest experience there. So if the band called Steve Miller or the man who runs and owns the place want to reach out? I'd love to talk about it but it went from a place I liked to a place I loved it admired to a place I've been abused by when they knew I was in the middle of being abused by my family and needed a place to be safe - all in a week. I was similarly dismissed from the restaurant when I hadnt insulted or raised my voice at anyone much less put hands on them simply because I looked like a homeless person and I am a filthy vagrant but I'm not that dirty thatI can't be in a restaurant. I wasn't talking dirty other than talking through his people don't like to hear like in Minneapolis. You got to be careful because a lot of people don't realize they're driving down, stolen land and might be running over one of the people that actually belongs to who sometimes are vagrants. That doesn't mean they're worth less than other human beings and there certainly worth more than 30 seconds of inconvenience because they happen to choose to cross in the middle of the road today and you saw them from two blocks away. You certainly don't treat people in the service industry where they do it well at chatterbox most nights by taking their order, serving them their food and then before they can order their second round of drinks cut them off from made up something I'm pretty sure about the back of my driver's license is my first. I can't have service then my friend can't get service for no reason that's articulable other than the server at a whim doesn't feel like serving us anymore. Caprice! At least they didn't try to charge me for the breach of contract that they were going to serve me two and a half hours of a beautiful time just like usual
Ordered the ribs and they just fell right off the bone was amazing also the pot roast just can’t say enough!!! 100% hidden gem we were too far away for DoorDash to deliver so we drove there and it was well worth it 10 mile drive from our hotel on the other side of town would do it over again! If I lived here would be where I always ordered from!
Great vibes. Great drinks. Amazing food. What a win to find this gem.
