I'm thankful I found this repair shop. They're family owned and upfront and honest with their estimates and what repairs needed to be made. I've been there multiple times now. I'm getting ready to move out of the area. I would've continued to take my vehicles to Charly's if I didn't have to move away. I highly recommend them. This is an honest review. I had no information with Charly's Repair Shop prior to my first visit and repair. Great shop and family!
Went to pay and writing a check. He watched me write a check and hand it to him. He then informs me they don't take checks. This policy is not posted anywhere! They have parking and credit card policies but nothing about no checks. Normally I would put it on a credit card but had to cancel due to theft.
Never again. All because they can't post their policies.
Charlie's auto-repair in my opinion is top-notch, they're honest, straight forward and they work hard. I've seen them working past 8pm on the weekend. They keep you updated on your vehicle and they Suggest what if anything you should do. And they do not have all these "hidden charges. When other shops quoted me $1200 for my blower motor they charged me $600!! I was speechless and that's not a easy task!
I'm going to start off by saying I don't know WHAT the others are smokin on. I couldn't find a shop that could even look at my AC for at least a week. Charly's took my keys when I drove it in and we discussed what was going on. Got a call that afternoon with the issues and that he would look around for best rates. They did just that. I know, unlike pretty much all the other reviewers, know how shops work. They did not upcharge the part much. They were very professional with me and had my truck fixed and AC blowing cold in less than 48 hours. Will recommend Charly's (to people who actually pay, not look for free handouts). Thank you Charly and your team!
I took my daughters 2008 Nissan versa there. When I got it back from my daughter, it was in sorry shape. At each step of getting the car back in order, they gave me a call to make sure that it was OK. They even found a hood release button for a vehicle over 15 years old and installed it Perfectly. Very thorough communication throughout the whole process, I appreciate these guys!
They definitely know what their doing. Happy to call in an emergency fix after having my car not working for 8 months. So glad they got to see me the same day and fix the car on the same day. Summary of it all my dad put in an alternator and it ended up being faulty from a pick and pull junkyard. These guys got me a new alternator the same day. Thanks a lot guys keep up the hard work. I would recommend family and friends and will be returning for more services.
This seemed like a great place to go for common repairs. The team is fast, friendly, and get the job done in a timely manner.
They're a newer shop and more complex repairs are not something they're accustomed to at this time. They're learning. Everyone has to learn but a car isn't exactly something we want to be the subject of that learning.
We brought our vehicle in for a more complex repair. It failed less than 24 hours later. While the site does have a tow truck, we ended up calling our own tow. When we arrived, the tow truck was on site despite being told it was out picking up cars.
They did do an additional repair on the car and it's running now but with this experience, we're hesitant about bringing a vehicle back. No place should say "I told my son to check that" and deflect that work wasn't completed at a good quality.
It's great to have a neighborhood shop but we'll consider options further away the next time we need a complex repair.
Pros:
1) Offers free towing if you’re fixing at his site.
2) Will look at pricing for parts for you
3) Pay after the work is complete, work is usually complete within 24-48 hours.
Cons:
1) Inspect the car and makes repairs on the car without your notification or consent.
2) you apparently sign some consent form at the end of your repair…?
3) No exact pricing for how much is it to inspect your vehicle.
***Owner is a bit unprofessional based on the replies he’s made in the past 24 hours but the son and employees usually treat you with good respect upon entry. Would’ve gave you a 3 star but you told someone to go “cry”. That’s not good customer service. Almost got accidentally charged $700+ for a battery repair but the employee showed me physically that he was going to cancel that payment. Phew! Thank goodness! Just be sure to double check your pricing and always ask for a receipt if you end up going here. Still appreciate the repair though!
