1st time here. Very nice staff, atmosphere & food was Great!! We will be back...all 4 of us, never been there before, which never happens. Great night. My friends Porter House was right on the money. Everyone stole bites ???????? Chicken Piccata Excellent!
Came in for an early dinner on a Tuesday night and glad we did. The dining area is a bit dark, but good for atmosphere. Our server, Marc, was outstanding, a real pro. You forget how good service at a restaurant can be until you have someone like Marc.
Our food was excellent as well. I ordered the Catfish Platter ($24), which came with 3 generous pieces of lightly breaded and fried fish along with 2 sides. I chose to go with the burgundy mushrooms and the fried okra. The mushrooms were fantastic, soaking in a bowl. I could probably just eat those and be more than satisfied. There were a decent number of the okra as well. They were fried well also, although I must admit a few of them were a bit chewy. Overall, both very good. Because there were so much of each side, I was only able to eat one of my pieces of catfish, so I boxed the rest for lunch the next day. Would definitely order it again, although I might substitute the carrots or the mashed potatoes for the okra.
The food was amazing; our server, John, was really helpful with suggesting what to eat. This place gets packed pretty quickly so it can get a little loud, but it was worth it.
1st time here was on Saturday night. Ashley was beyond amazing on customer service! Drinks were refilled before our glasses were half empty. Food was hot and she knew the menu very well. We will definitely be back. The atmosphere was amazing as well.. very comfortable. My wife and daughter loved it! The cheescake is homemade and very good. The slices are HUGE!
We were in Carmel today and decided to stop by Charlestons for lunch. We were greeted straight away and seated in the bar area. Nice place inside much nicer than the 82nd street location at Castleton Square. We have eaten at Charleston’s many times, at the Castleton location. Love the catfish platter. All this being said the similarities end there. After waiting in our booth Menu’s in hand, for what seemed like a time. The bartender finally approached our booth and asked what we wanted to drink. I said coke and the Wife said she brought in her own water. She returned with my coke and then we were cast into a service desert. A black hole if you can imagine where customers go to languish in hunger, till death. Not preferring the later option we decided to leave. The Wife asked how much for the coke her idea NOT mine. The bartender said don’t worry about it. Never asked why we were leaving, was anything wrong NOTHING. I can only assume she knew why we were leaving, why she didn’t want to wait on us I cannot say..?? I wish we could have eaten here but service was less than lackluster.
Me and my family have been a couple of times once me and my sister took our Momma to lunch and just recently my family went to celebrate my sisters Birthday we enjoyed ourselves and the food only thing we were at 2 tables the waiter at my daughters table didn't come and check on them enough like we felt he should have other than that every thing else was fine.
Service was first class. Keep our drinks filled. The food was great.
The food was just perfect, the house wines more so, and our server Mo was fantastic. She has a great personality and made us feel welcome. When a server thinks to tell you the ingredients in the salad when you are ordering (just in case you don't like tomatoes) and also asks when you order if you would like horseradish sauce with your prime rib instead of after it's already been served to you it's impressive.
The entire staff was courteous and pleasant, besides our server we had a manager another server and the gentleman who seated us treated us very well.
I had the garlic ranch dressing on the massive salad they served with a honeyed croissant. The 16oz prime rib was fantastic and came out medium like I asked. I had to take a lot of the fries and about half the steak home but did heat it back up in the morning and had it with fried eggs. Even the leftovers were great!
