Food was great service was nice just ran out of food kinda bad being my first time. Server was very apologetic. Will return again hope you guys have shrimp. FYI Potato soup was fire.
We always get seated right anyway, even when the parking lot looks full to capacity. We love Charleston we eat there frequently,specifically for the crescents, the shrimp and the catfish. We’ve tried other things and have enjoyed them as well, everything is great to us. But again those crescents (ask for the honey sauce) and the fried catfish are exceptional. Portions are great for the price and we always share. The peach Bellini is my favorite cocktail here.
All the food is good here, service is excellent, and I love the decor and ambiance. I will say though, there isn't one must have dish for me. But, I have enjoyed everything I have eaten.
This latest daiquiri I had... Now that was awesome. I would definitely get that again. Blueberry Lemon something or other. Fantastic! Make it one of your signature cocktails!
Great times with great food!
Great place to sit and enjoy an evening dine in. They remodeled the furniture, and it creates a relaxing vibe. The food is top-notch as always, and their fries are amazing. I got the the baby back ribs and they are amazing.

First time in, ambience is very nice, wish I would have came at night. I was seated in the bar area at a booth. It was somewhat empty around 3pm today. My waitress was nice , I ordered the Dynamite shrimp, and they were Delicious. I had the catfish as an entre , it was pretty good. I would definitely come back to try another dish.
My late wife and I were one of the first customers at Charlestons. We have known the owner, Gary over twenty yrs. This is an excellent place to dine. Lunch and dinner.

I have only eaten at a bar table so I cannot speak to the atmosphere in the main part of the restaurant. But I do enjoy eating in the bar area. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. My husband and I have started to make this part of our monthly date nights we poke it so much!
They have so many great food options!! Their honey croissants are delicious!! I also really like their ranch. Their fries are like the size of steak and shake but way better and they stay crispy even after they have started to cool. I would also recommend their baked potato soup.
Based on their food and the atmosphere of the bar, I would highly recommend especially if you are looking for a nice place to eat
I don't do many reviews, but a bad experience elsewhere has motivated me to give our favorite restaurant a review, as we now appreciate Charleston's more than ever.
We go to the E 82nd St location regularly (couple times a month or more). Have been to the Carmel location, but not often enough to review.
Whether we stop in on the spur of the moment for a burger, or go for a special occasion, we've never been disappointed, no matter what we've ordered -- and we've had salads (very good), sandwiches, steaks, pork chops (my personal favorite), pasta, sea food, and others. It's pretty remarkable to get good food and good service every time you go and no matter what you order (we were seated in the bar once and that was a little less desirable, food still great, but service a notch down).
Some of our favorites are priced a little higher than we'd like on a routine visit, but occasionally we'll order those (e.g. steaks) for special occasions or when we have a particular craving. The rest of the menu is, in our opinion, great value for the cost.
Almost always, the portions are large enough to take home half of what we're served, and considering how quality often suffers on re-warming, we've been pretty happy with our at-home enjoyment of the rest of the meal. The downside is we often eat too much to order dessert. The few dishes we didn't check below as "recommended" are menu items we haven't tried yet.
