The food and service was good. There only thing I would change is the Salsa. It had a good flavor but I prefer a chunkier style salsa, this was not. It has sections with smaller numbers of tables, which I think helps keep the noise down too. I would definitely recommend this place & it’s very reasonably priced.
Super friendly staff, delish chips and salsa, and the Nacho’s were huge and so yummy! We enjoyed the atmosphere and authentic vibes! We were visiting from SLC, and wanted Mexican - Chapala’s did not disappoint!
Fabulous food & service on our first visit! Loved the chunky guacamole & variety of tasty salsas that we started the meal with. Then our huge entrees arrived that each of the 4 of us loved. Each employee was exceptional.

Defiantly worth a try.
This was a weekday lunch and right from the moment you enter the restaurant, and until you leave, the hospitality and service was warm and welcoming. We were seated immediately and while we took a few minutes to order, we were served warm chips and chunky salsa. They were delicious. The menu had cocktails, and beer. We got couple of beers, a shrimp salad and Enchiladas. Food was delicious. Staff were warm and welcoming. And we loved the ambiance. I am sure this place is much more lively during weekend evenings.
Shrimp fajitas were good but skimpy on the trimmings. Only 2 flour tortillas, not many peppers & onions and had to ask for sour cream & more tortillas. Food is a bit pricey, too. The price of the small margarita is outrageous. $9.50! Nothing to write home about. Just okay.
The only reason I didn't give a 5+ star review is the kitchen staff was talking so loud we couldn't talk to each other. The food is great, beans were a little dry but the hot chunky salsa is full of flavor. The sizzling steak fajitas are so flavorful. We will definitely be back.
Today, I had mixed feelings about Chapala. This was my first visit to the family owned restaurant. When we arrived, we were greeted by a kind host that seated us. The environment was a warm Cantina. We ordered Menudo. When it arrived, there were no bad fumes. The portion was very good. The Tripe and hominy were cooked to perfection, and the seasoning ingredients were added on the side so that you would be able to adjust the heat to your taste buds. Then the second entrée meal was all downhill. Their tortilla appeared to be store brought and crumbled. Their salsas were blended to liquid lacking flavor and taste. The Shrimp Tacos were a total disaster. They were totally overcooked dried out and rubbery. When I asked for a manager to express my concerns, the server told me that was how shrimp was supposed to taste. All of my years eating I know when it's bad overcooked and when you can lose the flavor. I asked to speak to a manager no one came. We paid the bill and left. I didn't post pictures of this dining experience as I usually do because I didn't want to add to the negative experience. Perhaps it's an off evening.
