Margaritas are always delicious! Food is always great. It would be nice if they had a bus person to fill waters when they are busy.
One of the best places I've had in Eugene. After all the dissapointing spots I've found around the city that are "highly rated" its no surprise some people think this place is bad. Food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the servers are friendly. The shrimp I had in my Relleno was perfectly cooked. A lot of Mexican dishes are heavy so if you're not into that make sure you ask them to lighten it up. Try to get a table outside and enjoy the beautiful Eugene climate.
If I could give this place a 0 star I would. Our waiter did not wait on our section what so ever , another waiter from the back section waited on us. When it came time to pay they processed our bill and the response the waiter who waited on us instead of our actual waiter said “ that’s not my job “ as a waiter it is your job to help a guest. They also spend more time chit chatting then helping their customers. Everyone was in the back of the house. We were greeted with chips and salsa thrown on our table and nothing asked of drinks.
Cool atmosphere, mostly kind staff (although fairly unattentive...annoying to some, a good thing to others, you decide).
The dinner was not super great (mostly the melted American cheese squares on top was a big turn off, after being surprised to see everything covered in a cheese square I looked it up & apparently that is a thing for this dish... I, however, have never seen a slice of American cheese on any Pollo Fundido I have tried elsewhere. Maybe some love it? It's not for me & the flavors just dont blend well. I do not recommend.
Food is extremely greasy to the point it makes you feel sick, and you may find a chicken bone in your food like my friend did!
The service was ok, just rushed. Waitress comes, asks what you want, leaves. Doesn't really come back to check on you until she arrives with the bill which was fine today but wouldn't be satisfactory for most people if they want a refill or something.
Atmosphere is either very loud inside or you can sit outside in uncomfortable metal chairs in the hot sun while acorns from a tree hit the ground and bounce up, possibly hitting you.
Won't be coming back, which is fine because I don't live in Eugene anyway.
OH MY HECK I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Not only was the service super friendly and fast, but they went out of their way to keep drinks filled and to see if we needed anything more. I will definitely be back!!!
Andrea did an amazing job as a sever, instantly making sure my drinks and salsa was filled when needed and asking if everything was to standard. I appreciated the service here. Will definitely come back again. Love the Chile Verde Nachos.
Good good and portions. Had a 2-Taco Combination Plate, tacos were loaded high with shredded cheese. The salsa is on the edge of hot, but reasonable, and a good mix.
Friends had the nachos and were thrilled! Plenty of toppings, ground beef had a distinct and great taste (I'm told). Even the scallions received compliments.
We sat indoors, and there is seating available both indoor and outdoor (with heat posts).
