Overall, good Chinese takeout. Food was hot and fresh. Customer service is a bit lacking but I let that slide as I know serving the public can be hard.
Chan's Chinese food does a service. Their lunch special(11am-3pm) is incredible. They offer a nice selection of generously portioned entrees with a drink included. The food is wonderfully tasty, and the customer service is great and fast. If you are craving Chinese cuisine for lunch or dinner, I highly recommend them. Be sure and call in first, to order.
Orange chicken lunch special is in my pictures.
Moved to Gainesville a little over a year ago and I tried numerous Chinese places that all were mediocre to simply bad. Finally, Chan's delivered. Flavors were good, sweet dishes had a nice subtle sweetness and spicy dishes had enough spice without overpowering the flavor of the dish itself, actually enhancing it. Portion size was very good. Only issue was it's a tad on the pricier side and I couldn't find a good menu anywhere so here's one. The bar was basically on the floor, but Chan's was the best to date in Gainesville. Definite recommend.
Portions were like most take-out Chinese, plenty. On the plus side, the hot and sour soup was very good. It actually had a little spice to it and good flavor. The Szechuan chicken had some spice, but seemed to be almost tasteless otherwise. Egg rolls were ok. I doubt I'd go here again if I lived in the area.
Went there for the first time tonight and am very pleased. The food is outstanding and very fairly priced, and you get a lot of it. Thank you!
The service was great however, I had the veggie lo mein and spring rolls. I watched the young lady take the frozen spring rolls out of the freezer and drop them directly into the hot grease yum....not. Thank goodness they were cooked thoroughly but were not very tasty. The lo mein was bland and the portion was not what I'm used to for the price.
Service was ridiculously rude. General Tso’s chicken was soggy but good flavor. Bourbon chicken was good. Only went there because China 88 was closed. Won’t do it again.
Their hot and sour soup and general tso's chicken are great, as are the portions.
