DO NOT PARK HERE. Terrible experience with non-functioning equipment and non-caring remote attendants. Parked here as it was the recommended garage of our lodging, The Liberty Trust. Came in Saturday and the attendant said their machines were broken and she was taking $5 because there was an event going on. Sunday morning comes and there is no attendant and we know we need a ticket to exit, so we pay the "Lost Ticket" full day rate, $8, at the kiosk and drive to the out-gate. The machine will not read the ticket that we just paid for two minutes prior. We tried all the possible variations of "bar code up," smoothing it out, etc. then called the remote attendant. We may have woken her up, and she refused to open the gate, coming up with a long list of actions we had already taken, hanging up on us multiple times without warning, etc. Then we got a second remote attendant who had to hear the whole story all over again, also was no help, and also hung up on us. We paid a third time at the machine by the gate using a credit card and the gate raised and we hit the gas. I doubt I'll ever park there again. Your equipment had better be flawless if you don't have a person on site. Two cars an hour would pay the minimum wage necessary to keep a starving high school student there with enough skills and empathy to avoid this fiasco. Paid three times and lost 20 minutes of our lives that we'll never get back.
Was stuck in the garage on Saturday night. The machine to take money said it was "inactive". The bar wouldn't go up. The phone number for assistance led to an after hours answering machine. Ended up calling Roanoke City Police, they said the would try to reach an after hours repairman, but that the garage had a history of problems. What should we do when this happens?
Given one star because that's the lowest option. It took 10 minutes to get to a parking space which was on the roof. The fun part was the 27 minutes we waited trying to get out. No attendant to help. We have used this garage many times but never again.
Great parking garage to get access to Center in the square. It cost us $8 to park 3 hours, though. Not sure the cost of other parking garages. It had elevators and stairs accessible by all. I loved the view from the elevator.
Compact car parking at very top. There is residential parking on a couple levels so be aware when parking--you don't want to get towed. I felt my vehicle was safe.
Paymemts can be done with cash, card, or a combination of both.
Parking fees are the following every day:
$0 for the first 15 minutes
$1 for every 30 minutes, maxing out at $8 for the whole day.
While the area felt a bit small, it didn't feel closterphobic. Pay attention when you park as there are some reserved spots.
I parked on the 3rd floor when going to visit the Roanoke Starcade. The elevator was clean enough. The garage itself felt secure the entire time. My vehicle was left untouched. I was able to get in and out with no issue.
I would definitely use this parking garage again the next time I visit downtown Roanoke!
A very convenient garage for where we were going. Prices are not unreasonable, but would note a bit of cleaning could go a long way.
First time I had been here there was somebody at the gate, now they have a computer system which works. The only thing is that it seems it has an extra ticket thing that doesn't make any sense. It has a sign about paying the ticket and leaving in 15 minutes but the machine doesn't work. Once you go to the gate the thing works but the other machine made me think I had to pay there as I didn't know the one at the gate would let me pay until we got there.
I ended up requesting assistance and the lady that responded let me know. Seems like this could be improved on.
Everything else was good and as you would expect.
If I could give 0 stars I would.. I have been parking in this garage for 5+ years Because I work across the street. The one time I couldn't get money out and asked could I bring it back I was told no I had to back up and figure it out so in reality I was held hostage!! After paying $8.00 a day 5 days a week to park you would think I could get a little help. I will never give them another dime of my money and make sure my coworkers don't either!
There is a small black bear here. Police and animal control on the scene.
