I just went there this morning. Friendly, fast and a clean shop. I did not have an appointment, but they took care of my car, smogged right away. I highly recommend Central Coast Auto Center in Morro Bay.
Great service. Everyone in the shop was friendly and helpful. Very satisfied with the whole experience.
Super honest and friendly! Though they couldn't fix our issue, due to warranty problems they gave us very professional advice and were generous about it. We're glad that we went there!
My pristine 1985 jeep, CJ 7 was no longer able to pass smog. My options were to sell it out of state or to surrender it as junk. Chris suggested that I possibly look into a California legal fuel injection system. I did the research and found one manufacturer HOWELL, who was approved by CARB to make an after market computer controlled throttle body which was California street legal.
I felt comfortable that Chris was a honest and capable mechanic, I asked him if he would install the device which was quite complicated.
Chris had the jeep for several days, and when I returned, I discovered that the new computer controlled fuel injection system far exceeded my expectations. Chris did a extremely professional job of installing the system and I couldn’t be any happier. The performance was nothing like I had ever experienced with this jeep, even when it was brand new.
The jeep passed the smog test with flying colors and produced lower emissions than most new vehicles.
I highly recommend Chris for any mechanical service you may need.
PS I visited thIs shop before it was purchased by Chris several years ago. This is not the same shop. This is not the same owner
What a great family owned shop! Veronica is a detailed record keeper, super friendly and efficient. Chris took the time to explain what he was going to do, and then did it. Great experience, and would highly recommend, especially for SMOG and emissions!
I love Central Coast Auto! As a young female, I have had numerous interactions at other auto repair shops where I felt like I wasn't taken seriously. The owner at Central Coast always takes the time to chat with me when I bring my car in and always remembers me. They are also always willing to stay after they're technically "closed" to finish up whatever they're working on, and I never feel like they're rushing me through.
A+ in every respect. As a mechanic myself I am very impressed by this shop. You can trust that they are being honest and giving you the most accurate diagnosis possible. The owner Chris is very impressive in his knowledge and skillset. I have had some horrible experiences with other local businesses and can’t put into words how relieved I am to find a shop like this. He treats customers with kindness and will go out of his way to do the right thing. With every ridiculously expensive tool a larger shop has, Chris manages to provide service at hourly rates that are lower than other shops. Do yourself a favor and take your car to these guys!
Came here because we pulled put of steep drive and pulled our muffler out when we were heading home from our stay on Morro Bay. Larry was kind enough to stop and help us immediately so we could get on the road. Great price, friendly service and I would highly recommend them.
2 years later and still thankful for such a wonderful mechanic!!! Talk about this all the time with our friends, you just dont find such trustworthy folks!
