Best WLM Reviews
Found this place on google maps to eat breakfast on my business trip. This is hidden gem place, located slightly off the the main road. Awesome friendly atmosphere felt as soon as you enter. Great decoration theme, feels like the owner put his heart into it. All chairs have restaurant name engraved, I thought it was pretty cool. Chips and salsa served as appetizers which is a plus. Very reasonable pricing. I’m definitely returning again to try their other plates for lunch/dinner
Definitely a hidden gem! First time there and the food was amazingly delicious! Chili had a bite and great taste! Love the atmosphere and the waiters! Very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back there soon!
This place was okay. It wasn’t bad, but not really great either ... just okay. Friendly atmosphere. Red and green chile were pretty mild. I was really surprised to be charged $1.50 for a side of green that was a really small container (I took a picture) filled maybe halfway. The burrito didn’t have that much red, either. The chips were good. Nachos do not use shredded cheese and I don’t think there was cheese in my burrito, either.
The food was horrible. I couldn’t even eat it. We both got beef chimichangas that were complete mush and not at all crispy, and cold in the middle. We did take it to go and drive about 7 minutes home, but it should not have been this mushy or cold. The filling looked worse than Taco Bell mystery meat. There was about 3 tablespoons of beans included and about 5 tablespoons of rice. Most definitely not worth your money.
We arrived at 5:30 and were excited to try a new place based on a ABQ Journal article “Best Enchiladas in Rio Rancho.”There was only one other couple there and just finishing their meal. The restaurant is very large as well as an outdoor patio.
A gentleman working there said “sit anywhere you like.” The place is so large, we opted for the bar area since there was a bartender there. No other employees were seen.
As we sat down, the bartender immediately came over to offer drinks. He was very personable and he turned out to be the amazing part of our experience; thank you!
I had an Acapulco Gold beer, based on his recommendation and it was very good. Wife had a margarita which was also good.
The menus, tables and seats need a good scrubbing. Everything had a “tacky” feel.
Our waiter brought our drinks as well as chips and salsa. Chips appeared to be homemade but lacked any flavor or seasoning; even salt would have been a great add. The salsa was a one note concoction which was red in color and a few, some sort of discernible chunks.
Based upon the ABQ Journal article we were looking forward to Steak and Enchiladas as well as a seafood dish.
There was no steak on the menu and the only seafood was a Ceviche Platter. The Ceviche Platter turned out to be an appetizer for 6. Definitely not a meal. There was about 2 cups of really good ceviche surrounded by the same lackluster chips on a huge plate.
While the ceviche was very good, that quantity was too much for one person and was not an entree.
My wife got the Enchilada, Taco and Avocado Tostada. The highlight of her dish was the tostada. It was good. The taco was filled with ground beef that I’m guessing was supposed to be browned. Poached and gray was as good as it got. And once again zero seasoning (even salt).
The enchilada had a very non-descript sauce with no flavor or depth.
Now for the Sopapillas. Simply doughy and was able to taste the flour. Guessing oil not hot enough? The honey didn’t improve.
I can’t emphasize how well our server was. Sadly, we won’t be back.
It is easy to get a first time customer with ads, coupons or in this case an ABQ Journal article. The challenge is a repeat customer.
The waitress was super nice and attentive. That is the only good thing to come out of my time there. We ordered Chile con Queso, it wasn’t even warm. It looked like mustard that had been sitting there for awhile. I ordered the ny steak and shrimp. I sure as hell did not receive a NY. It was so thin that it could fit between the slots on my fork. I asked for it to be cooked medium. One side looked okay and the burnt side was faced down on my plate. The rice was watery and my salad had black pieces throughout and a mushy chip underneath it all. My shrimp was extremely over cooked. My Fiancès enchiladas was just a giant gloop of mush. My $9 margarita had no liquor in it what so ever. His margarita had maybe a teensy tiny bit of liquor in it. His dr pepper tasted like it didn’t have any dr. Pepper syrup in it. What a waste of $70.
I have never wrote a review before but this was horrid and I have eating at HOHOs. my wife and I ordered to go and it was awful soggy cold and the ground beef was a weird color. Please don’t go here if you do you will waste your money
We love going to new places, so today we visited Cazuelas Mexican Grill & Brewery in Rio Rancho New Mexico. The atmosphere was an infusion of a mexican restaurant and sportsbar, but the environment was welcoming. Their salsa I had a little too much garlic, but it was still good. I recommend not eating the salsa if you don't like cilantro. The red chile was hot, their brewery beer tasty(personally I recommend the Amber) and their 'Tower' Enchilada Plate was #delicious! Overall they gained two new customers.
