The service was good, very friendly and fast. The ice in the drinks is shaved ice - perfect! The hushpuppies were good, and I don't usually like hushpuppies. However, the fish, chicken, and shrimp (boiled and fried) were blind. The fries were okay, but I thought they were thick after being assured they were very thin. The okra was unseasoned.
This was my second time coming here. Both times, I can tell they don’t season the fried okra. The fried shrimp was bland. The fries are the only thing I just “love”. The waiter was friendly and great overall the first time. We had a new waiter this time, she was absolutely rude. We told her thank you 3 times in a row to make sure she heard us but we came to the conclusion that she was just flat out ignoring us. The couple of times she responded, it was the most unfriendly “mhm”. Her energy overall was not welcoming at all and it honestly got awkward at one point. I did not even want to be there anymore. What threw me off was she brought each of us another cup each of our choice of drink with no ice for our “refills” so that she wouldn’t have to go back and freshly refill our drinks. The cups with our “refills” was just sitting on our table getting hot and flat. So we had all of these unnecessary cups on our tables taking up room. To me, that’s lazy. Overall the place is ok but I don’t think I will be back.
This was my first visit to this restaurant and I must say I was not impressed. The shrimp was overcooked and the catfish was in season and was very musky tasting. However.... The lady who was my server was attentive and helpful! When she asked why did not want to go box I was honest and told her about the food. She asked if I wanted the manager and I told her no. But when I got to the cash register they already knew and comped half the meal, apologized and asked me to please come back. I tipped my server very well. I do plan to go back because any place can have a one-off.
I use to love this restaurant but now since they changed owners it's not as good....the hush puppies are different now they have added corn to the batter and they just wasn't flavored enough. I was very disappointed
Group reunion. Had a room set up, buffet for the group. Food was excellent. Judy had everything set and ready for us and all staff were pleasant and accommodating. The dinner was great!
Today was a horrible day..
It was EXTREMELY busy at 11:30 when we arrived. They had 2 very large parties.
We got our hushpuppies right away, but my husband ordered an unsweetened beverage and got sweet. No problem.. when the waitress finally got back she replaced it..
Our friends got their water and needed sweetener and their own basket of hushpuppies..
Never came..
We had to keep asking..
I received my "Shrimp Bisque soup" ...the waitress said she'd be back with my onion rings.
Well ,they NEVER arrived.
I decided to eat my LESS than appetizing looking soup..
I regretted that decision right away..
The shrimpy liquid mess made me queasy and nauseated instantly...the smell and taste were horrid..
I had my husband take a small bite..
He concurred..it was BAD..
Everyone else at our table of 4, liked their food..
Service was slow..(Again, I realize that it was EXTREMELY busy)
They did remove my meal from the bill, without me asking..
Staff was friendly..
I just hated that my food was unedible..
I should have ordered the catfish in hindsight.
Hush Puppies are phenomenal didn't know they are served before the meal. What a soft fluffy surprise! The lunch specials are great and plenty with their side variations. The fried catfish filet was great! Quick service but they were pretty empty for a late lunch.
I came in to have lunch, was waiting on someone to take my order for nearly 20 mins had to approach a worker and ask would I be serviced only after seeing other diners come in and get seated along with serviced. When I did place my order my sides were brought to me 10 mins before my food was brought.
