I was super nervous trying out bangs for the first time and Monica absolutely KILLED IT. I showed her a photo of what I wanted and it ended up looking even better than the reference photos. She made me feel so comfortable and was about the sweetest and funniest person I ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am absolutely obsessed with how my hair turned out and cannot stop staring in the mirror!! HIGHLY recommend this place!!!
I have had such an amazing experience with Miss Monica, The style and hair color I describe came out so much better than I could imagine! Monica was so gentle and her technique made all the difference! I can't believe it took me 19 years but I can officially say I have had the best experience and actually got what I asked for in color and style, I will never go anywhere else ! Had an appointment with Monica, she was very nice and welcoming. I had a shampoo and blow dry, came out exactly how I wanted! My first visit but I’ll definitely be back!!

The hairdresser was SOOOOO rude. I think she was just having a horrible day & took it out on me. I think her name is Lisa, she’s older with reddish/brown hair I wanna say curly but she had it up in a bun heavy ish. Ok so, apparently she wasn’t comfortable doing bleach, I assume or she was just burnt out & didn’t want to do it. Which is fine if she could have told me in advance, I have a child & I my husband came home early from work so I could get my hair done. She didn’t say hi to me, very unfriendly from the start, when I sat down she had a bitter face the whole time, I was like “ ok.. wondering if she was going to ask me what I wanted done, she said she had read in the books what I wanted & she was confused cause it was a mess, as in the front desk wrote it weird or something. I told her I wanted to go blonde & she’s like umm yea I can’t do that your hair is to dark, I said “ yea but can’t we do like a step at a time & she didn’t say anything & still she went to grab the color, came back with it & I said can you bleach the bottom & she grabbed part of my hair and said “ you want this part bleached? I said yea that whole thing is that ok? And she said “ idk, it YOUR HAIR you’re the one who’s gonna be with that everyday !” … I was like WoooooooW, I said “ I’m sorry, how much do I owe you for what you mixed ? If you’re not comfortable doing my hair it’s ok I can leave & she said “ that’s totally fine!” And took the stuff she put around me off so mad like she hated me from the start, pulled the bottom of my hair a tad when she took it off as if she wanted me to feel that lol wow… she’s bitter, I think burnt out. Bad for that company, bad for business. She missed out on almost 200 worth of work . Never again.
Donna is incredibly friendly and did an awesome job. I've tried a lot of places in Morro Bay for a good haircut. I have long hair so it's usually hit or miss. Donna made my long hair look great! I highly recommend Catch A Wave!
I am so happy with my experience here. Kaylee is professional and focused, and she does a fantastic job. Over the years I have been searching for someone who will cut my difficult hair the way I like it and I found that person in Kaylee. She has even figured out a special way to cut the back so the part that's straighter than the sides doesn't hang longer in the middle. She's wonderful. I'm a huge fan and I regularly recommend this salon and Kaylee to all my friends and family who have admired my haircut.
