Best WLM Reviews

Went here for Restaurant Week. The menu choices were good, and the food was high quality and tasteful. However, the host at the door did not greet us or the group in front of us when we walked up to him. In fact, he ignored us while talking to another staff member and didn't acknowledge either group with a considerate, "Hi, I'll be right with you." It was an unwelcoming feeling. We were ignored at the bar as well for about 10-15 minutes, trying to get a drink while waiting for our table, although they were not very busy. However, our waitress, Karen, was very friendly and the food came out to our table quickly.
Great space, wonderful service, and downtown location. Perfect place to impress your date, in-laws, or colleagues. I have the seafood chowder, the grill plate with shrimp, lobster tail, and salmon, with the oreo crust cheesecake. Others at my table had the steak & cake, cedar plank salmon w/sauté spinach, key lime pie, and flour-less chocolate lava cake. I did not like the fact that is was a cold night and we were sat right at a huge window ???? ???? we were quite chilly and I had to wrap my scarf around me. If I do go back I will request better seating, our server Issac was great and the rest of the wait staff was so kind and on point.
I visited the restaurant with my wife and my 10-month-old daughter, from reception the service was excellent, with recommendations from the waiter regarding the choice of dishes.
From the starter to the dessert it was wonderful. I recommend it to everyone.
It’s a nice place to go to celebrate a birthday or special event. The atmosphere is nice and classy, and the restrooms were very clean. However, the issue was with the food. My party of four all agreed that the portions were extremely small and well undersalted. However, the oysters and Calamari were delicious. Wouldn’t be my first choice if I was offered to come back.
Ambience and service were great. Food was good, but not great - that’s why three stars. I don’t think I’ll go back.
Catch 35 is fine. It features a focused, well-priced seafood menu in a posh, polished space a stones throw away from Chicago’s iconic River Walk. Our visit featured a choppy server handoff that dampened our experience. Our original server was an effective guide who navigated us through the menu and offered key recommendations (all of which turned out to be spot-on). But the service quickly soured with a replacement server who lacked such direction and an overattentive bus staff that created a rushed atmosphere, despite the venue being mostly empty. The food was divisive, with some dishes being aggressively average (the Crab-Stuffed Shrimp, the Scallops, the Atlantic Salmon) and others that I’m still salivating over (the Chilean Sea Bass, seared Tuna Sashimi, and Risotto.) In general, Catch 35’s best dishes featured an Asian spin on fish. Catch 35 is a place you stumble upon after a long day of walking or a quick bite before a show— it’s clearly an established, well-oiled machine that will satisfy most folks. But it’s not a must-visit spot in a town known for its food.
We went for dinner during Chicago Restaurant week. The service is very fast and good seafood place near river walk with good indoor seating space. In the evening, there is live jazz music. We ordered coconut shrimp, Tuna Poke Tostadas for starters. For main course, we ordered twin filet mignon medallions and cedar plank salmon. We have flourless chocolate lava cake and triple threat cheesecake for desserts. Food was good and delicious.
Restaurant week chicago started last week. Today was our first restaurant at Catch 35 for lunch.
For starters we ordered:
Shrimp bisque: nothing special to it. It was light not too heavy.
Potsticker: was really good for a starter. It can even be an entree. Started to get a little full after. It was a bit heavy but still very delicious.
Entrees we ordered:
Scallop sliders: the bacon wrapped around the scallop was too strong that you couldn’t taste the scallop so we ended up just eating the scallop by itself and it was made well and tasteful.
Filet mignon: we asked for medium rare but it came out well done. The steak was dry and tasted old like it’s been sitting out for awhile under a heated lamp.
Sides:
Fries: are fries nothing spectacular.
Brussels sprouts: was the best thing we had on the menu. Roasted with a little sweetness honey glaze flavor after taste.
Desserts:
Key lime pie: was light but the after taste of the line was a bit too strong.
Cheesecake: was a little too thick in my opinion.
