I stopped here for my 10 hour DOT break, that officer walked over to my truck & asked me to bring in my CDL & Cab card.
I’m looking ???? like ???? what’s going on??
I had already scaled my truck & was cleared then went around to the back to park.
This dude said…Your IFTA is out of date & preceded to tell me of the hundreds of WE drivers he had written failed inspections for this sole reason.
Then said “to help them save money you can pay $20 for a temporary IFTA permit until you get to your terminal”.
They (Western) had left me sitting for a day because my dispatcher thought I had been rude.
So I declined the offer.
I said I don’t have any money. ????
Got pulled to the side for truck inspection, the officer was nice . I ended up having to purchase a log book because my company is in a transitional phase
I mean it's a weigh station. But they run it very well. Move trucks pretty quick. All my over size loads have had permits confirmed over the speakers and sent on my way. They do a lot of inspections here so as long as your legit they are great to deal with.
Thank God for good D.O.T.'s they allow me to fix my weight right before the blitz..????????Want he do it..????
Actually, very polite people in here. I hit the brakes very hard and wound up with my load sliding forward, a lot! My fine was $919! But they were very decent people. It made a terrible day not as bad as it could have been...? ????
Updates it's status, CLOSED/OPEN. Triggers in cab ez pass transponder green or red. In line with the highway. Weigh your truck, haven't seen much trouble at all or harassment. North and southbound lanes at about the 140mm, I-95 VA.
