From the time we walked in the receptionist was unprofessional. She was asked about how long it would take to be seen by a doctor, she proceeded to say, and I quote" let me look into my crystal ball, anywhere from 30 minutes until the time you die" she then proceeded to take the patients vitals and said, " this isn't an accurate reading because it's not rectal...I don't mind rectal". From that moment on, I observed her taking a quanity of pills behind the desk while people were suffering from illness. I asked for a sanitized wipe to wipe down the seat because I am quite aware that germs are left behind...right, yeah. The "lady" said. And I quote" this is poison ". Oh it gets better or worse from here.
At this point I'm consoling the patient. He feels awful and violated and discriminated against. As I'm calming him and reassuring him, I'm getting the worst looks..I'm assuming it's because I'm white as is the patient. I advised the patient that I'm walking to the car to eat the dinner we had purchased earlier. Suddenly, the patient is exiting the building with much haste. When he arrived at the vehicle he proceeds to inform me that he was told..not asked..but told " to open his mouth and close his eyes " by a receptionist. The same one that told the patient " 30 minutes until you die". At that point the patient was extremely uncomfortable and refused further interaction with the front desk intake personnel. We left and decided to go to Atrium health at Mount island. The moment we stepped in the door ...they were so respectful and concerned for the patients health
Brought my wife in for flu like symptoms. The wait time was reasonable. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. We seen the Physician Assistant once we got back to our room. She was very polite and took the time to give my wife a detailed exam. After determining it was pneumonia the staff did a great job at making sure my wife got all the proper treatment that she needed. ER visits are always dreadful. I have to admit that this was the most pleasant ER visit that I have had. Everything from the wait time, staff and facility cleanliness was exceptional.
On 4/22/24 I went to the ER with a head injury. The receptionist, nurse, radiographer and doctor was very professional, knowledgeable and caring. Dr. J. Geisler was wonderful. He immediately ordered a CT Scan confirming that I had a concussion. His great bedside manners put me at ease. His knowledge and explaining everything showed his caring nature. I would highly recommend this hospital for your emergency needs. Thank you to all hospital personnel who attended to me that night.
On April 29th my daughter had to go into this emergency room for unbearable pain that she was having. At this time she was alone so I had to rush to the hospital because she was having anxiety due to being alone and not knowing what’s going on with her body. When I arrive to the hospital I asked to speak to the doctor and the front staff were so nice and they went and got the doctor. When Dr. Jane Warren came in to talk to me she was so rude and didn’t want to talk and continue to rush us off by saying anything else anything else!
This was a horrible experience for someone to have to go into the hospital alone and get treated so horribly by the doctors. As I talked to my daughter she explained that she’s been rude to her the whole time she’s been there. It makes me wonder if they even checked her correctly or did they just try to get her out of the emergency room. The emergency room didn’t even have a lot of people in there for her to be in a rush I’m not sure if she’s just rude or racist.
Working in the medical field you should be more concerned about your patients and much nicer. You don’t have any idea what a person is going through physically or mentally when they come into the emergency room.
Personally I usually do not like to go to Caromount hospitals from past experiences but this time around with the circumstances this ER was the closest.
I came in with a severe asthma attack. Staff did a phenomenal job treating me. Dr.Dean was great with getting all the appropriate treatments I needed and explaining everything to me and understanding when I first came in a could hardly talk because of how little air I was getting. Their Respiratory Therapist Lindsay was amazing, I myself am one so I always speak up for this field, she got me a nebulizer right away and was extremely nice and calm in the situation. The RN was great as well, got the IV in on the first stick and when my heart rate went up from the breathing treatment was in with saline right away to help bring it down.
They made sure to send me home on a great regimen to help knock this pneumonia out and what to look out for so I can go back and get admitted to the hospital if needed.
Went to ER last night due to excruciating back and right hip/ leg pain. Rena the receptionist was very helpful and kind. My nurse Heather was very sweet and concerning. The XRay person Kelly along with two of her Co workers were so patient, carrying, helpful, and very compassionate. My PA Sara was on point with my care. I was in so much pain and my leg was swollen but Sara was determined to ease my pain before allowing me to go home. I couldn't even walk straight or sit comfortable/ lay without being in pain. At the beginning my pain was at a 7/8 or more. By the end of the night my pain was at a 5/6 . You guys really did a great job. I wish their were more people working in the medical field like PA Sara Dilly XRay tech Kelly
Nurse Heather, and Nurse Rena.
???? thanks
Worst experience I have ever had at a medical facility. Was treated with blatant disrespect, and I felt absolutely HORRIBLE & so sick, the receptionist at front desk who said she had "37 years of experience " treated me and my driver so horrible that we had to leave and go to another E.R.. I was totally respectful as was my company but we were so harassed to the point where I decided to leave and absolutely never return. I hope that EVERYONE who thinks about going here will take a moment and decide if GREAT treatment ELSEWHERE (Aka Charlotte) VS AWFUL treatment (Mt. Holly E.R.) is worth the extra like 2-3 miles. To me, it's beyond worth it and the way they treated myself and my loved ones and driver..I CAN promise that we will never return and will let ALL of our extended family, friends, and community know exactly what happened and how terrible we were treated...please don't go here and be subjected to discrimination and malpractice!!!!
I would not recommend this facility for emergency services because they were not helpful in the back. No nurse came to see me nor the doctor. They were giggling and laughing. If I stroked out I had no help. I had been there from 10:30am til 11:13am when I decided to leave. The only person that was helpful was the front desk she was phenomenal. I guess the doctors and nurse didn't think high blood pressure was that important to come in and treat me!
