Had a great meal here with excellent service. They provided spicy salsa without even requesting it when I asked for hot sauce. They gave us a free sample of the Mayan pork and it was ???????? so good. Loved it. Also it’s a nice river view.

We stopped by to check out the menu and chatted with an employee about hours, and need for reservation. Turned out that we weren't able to come back to dine due to our schedule.

...After the fact, we read all of the reviews, which we always take with a grain of salt- however in this case, we were a little alarmed by the responses from restaurant ownership- very defensive, repeatedly, when folks didn't give a high rating. We do recognize that there are always 2 sides to every story, and we love Mexican food, so were a bit disappointed to not have been able to dine here at the time- but maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

When we originally asked if outdoor seating was open they said no because it was chilly and windy but when we explained we were traveling through and had two dogs they said no problem and opened the upper balcony for us so we could eat with our pups.

Food was great, service was fast. Absolutely would recommend!

Also, the people who gave a 3 star review without even eating at the restaurant just because they didn't like the other reviews they read is absurd! Should be deleted because its a totally invalid review.

Great food! We had the enchiladas ranchers and chicken fajitas, both recommended. Carlos' bar had over 200 tequilas, some I'd never seem before, and Carlos himself was friendly and informative. Muy Bueno!

I was looking for a hot meal after fishing on Pearrygin Lake in high wind last Wednesday. I love Mexican food so I stopped by Carlos' Mexican Grill and got a wonderful large meal of a tostada, an enchilada with rice and beans. It really hit the spot and I received my order almost immediately. I recommend this place.

I’m really surprised by the average ratings on this place. After a long long hike, we wanted something tasty and filling. Needless to say only Mexican restaurants can tick most boxes for me.

Spinach enchiladas - served hot and fresh. Better than most enchiladas I have had so far. The green sauce is tangy and soo good.

Ambience is nice and service was super quick.

Chips and salsa is bottomless and waitress refilled twice.

Side of rice is 5/5.

Definitely recommend this place.

The place looked cool from the outside and we couldn’t pass it by. Unfortunately, it wasn’t up to the standard set by many Mexican restaurants in the Washington area. The menu was limited and a lot more expensive than other Mexican restaurants. I do understand that it’s a small town and they have to adjust their menu and prices. But they were out of shrimp and couldn’t do blended drinks and that’s what we originally came for. The veggie enchiladas were good, but still not as good as other places as they were just mostly spinach inside. The service was good and all the ladies were very friendly! Always feel bad leaving less than 4/5 stars, but it wasn’t a 4/5 star experience.

Not every place in Winthrop can handle a group of 11. Carlos1800 did it well. 5 ???? for the service and the food. Nachos are for 2-4 people and are seasoned to perfection. They played country music in the background instead of Hispanic music. That's the only thing I could find fault with. Even their sign in the bathroom to wash your hands like you've been cutting jalapenos in the kitchen and now have to take your contacts out was on pointe. Delicious Mexican food.
