Best WLM Reviews
I wish I knew this place existed when I lived in Gainesville! I had the curry goat, excellent! It was hot, fresh, and tasted like home. My husband had the oxtail, also very good. Im usually not a lover of rice and peas, unless it's my grandma's, but this was pretty good. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. My only drawback was the coco bread. It was very tough and did not accommodate the patty. The beef patty, on the other hand, was quite tasty. I love the crust! Overall, it was a great place. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to Gainesville.
With the recent closing of a nearby favorite, Reggae Shack, I went to look for my next favorite Caribbean restaurant to meet my needs. I am pleased to report that those needs were met and exceeded. The flavors experienced in the food as well as the quantity was more than sufficient. Alas, I did indeed go for the most expensive item on their menu, the Oxtail dinner, as well as a Beef Patty. While daunting, it definitely met and exceeded expectations. The meat was incredibly tender. The Beef Patty was juicy. The spices were perfect. I also had the opportunity to try my friend’s order of Jerk Chicken, a very good value option with amazing flavor still. We arrived later in the evening (they should extend their hours) and that’s where the service can seem a bit lacking. The Chef/owner had a bit of an attitude but the art is separated from the artist and I’d be a liar if I said I wasn’t impressed. A bit of a pricey play for a night out but one you can’t replace. Will gladly return again!
First this place came recommended from both a friend and yelp so i had to try!! Walked in and was greeted by super friendly staff and took my order right away as i already knew what we wanted. Walking in the smell of the food is SOOO good, and the music playing in the background was very reminiscent of an island atmosphere. I have traveled to numerous Caribbean Island and felt like i was back on the islands!! The order was ready in about 5 minutes and i couldn't wait to get home, My wife could not stop saying WOW as she ate the oxtail dinner!! She said hands down it the best she has eaten!! Also my Curry chicken dinner looked and smelled and tasted amazing, best curry chicken i have had to include the islands!! The servings are more than ample. Definite won't leave you hungry!! I can see why it was recommended for me to try!! And i am already planning on going back later this week.
First time here, and what an amazing experience! They were really kind giving us good recommendations and taking the time to explain the menu. Please do yourself a favor and try the Mild Beef Patties ???? I ordered the Curry Chicken l and my husband got the Curry Goat, both were beyond expectations, all the Caribbean flavors and spices were there. Try the Pineapple Jamaican soda, really refreshing for this Floridian Weather ???? The music was so good, made us feel that we were in Jamaica ???????? Also, the owner came to check how was our food, he was really nice and attentive✨ What a great experience, definitely coming back!
Caribbean Spice delivered an exceptional culinary journey, especially with their mouthwatering oxtails stealing the spotlight. Each bite was bursting with authentic Caribbean flavors, leaving me craving more. The service was attentive and courteous, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, I couldn't help but feel that the atmosphere lacked a bit of the island vibe I was expecting; some lively island music would have added to the ambiance. Nevertheless, the combination of delectable food and good service made for a satisfying visit to Caribbean Spice.
Patties and cocoa bread was great. Food was just ok. So far I’ve had the curry chicken dinner and jerk chicken dinner. Not enough seasoning on either. This will be my spot for patties. I’ll just make my own curry like I usually do. I just didn’t feel like cooking and the other place I usually go to was closed. Not bad if you don’t really know what it should taste like but not that bad. Will I go back? Yes for the patties.
No pictures because i ate my goat too fast ????. My first time trying Caribbean Spice and they were soooooo good. Everything was cooked to perfection. The best veggie patty I’ve had in a long time. Definitely will be coming back! Also the set up is perfect, I received my food within 5 minutes of setting down. The service was excellent. Definitely a 10 out of 5!!! ????????????
Wow.. thats all i can say, the food tastes authentic (I’m half Jamaican) taste like my grandmothers cooking bless her soul, i ordered the oxtail large of course with rice and peas and a spicy beef patty. 10/10 the food the amazing best Caribbean food I have had in a long long time.
