Best WLM Reviews

This was my first time eating here……NEVER AGAIN! I had the most horrible tasting brown stewed chunks that I have EVER had. I ordered a jumbo dinner with 2 sides. THE WORST. The chunks tasted as if they were soaked in pure vinegar. The gravy or whatever tasted like it had a slimy/mushy texture pon di rice. The rice in the rice and KIDNEY BEANS was parboiled….uggghhhh!!! Plaintains were nasty yf, coco bread nah even coco bread!! I was told I could have mac n cheese as a side for an additional $3…..it was a very small amount, not tasty at all, but the most bearable and the only thing I was able to FINISH . I am very sorry I wasted almost $26 on this meal. The food tastes old and horrible which was not expected being that it was before 1pm…..LUNCHTIME! The pics that I shared is what I COULD NOT AND WOULD NOT EAT!!! Money WASTED instead od waisted as I hoped.????????
We ordered the curry shrimp plate with cabbage and rice. Also, the jerk chicken with double cabbage with rice. It was so good. We only had one Jamaica restaurant go to, but now we have another. The chicken was so juicy, and the cabbage had so much flavor. I couldn't stop eating it, lol. We ordered the cornbread, which was very different (especially for a southerner). It was a little too sweet for my liking. The flavor had a bit of cinnamon in it.
Not that impressed as my first time. Yellow rice was not good. Cabbage was bland. Oxtails ok. Macaroni only took one bite (don’t even remember what it tasted like) Beef patties seemed like frozen ones because it wasn’t fresh…. Overall because it was the basic of basic Caribbean food and because I would go back if I got desperate, I’ll give them 3 out 5. No rush to go back but I would. When I was in there a man was taking his jerk chicken back because they were salty. Reviews on Yelp, there were a few complaints about the saltiness. My next visit will be to try the jerk wings/chicken… whenever that will be!
We got the veggie curry, cabbage, and a veggie patty. I can’t give them enough stars. We don’t eat meat, so trying new restaurants can be tricky. I will order this over and over again. Someone is cooking with a lot of love in that kitchen. It had just a tiny bit of spice. Just enough to make it great. I can’t do spice, so I was a little hesitant, but the flavors are on point!
The sign on the door indicated that the meal was $10.50, after placing the order was told $21 + tax. After pointing this out, we were told, "Oh we need to change the sign."
I was disappointed that no efforts were made by the establishment to correct this or offer alternative. No, I did not ask, however it could have been a customer service opportunity to possibly win repeat business or afford at least 1 more star.
The corn looked old, the rice was mushy, the sautéed vegetables were extremely vinegary and the fish did not taste fresh. I actually felt nauseous. Here's before photos, check it out. I would never go back.
Food here is phenomenal! My wife and I purchased the Jerk chicken and oxtails it was so delicious. Jerk Chicken was flavorful and spicy and rice and peas melts right in your mouth. The punch is addictive. Enviorment is welcoming. We order twice in one day. Great food!????
I had high hopes but am ultimately disappointed. The oxtail was plain, so was the beef patty and coco bread. After putting the oxtails in the fridge for a day (thinking maybe things would get better), it smelt off, so I assume that everything was made over 5 days ago. I have never experienced oxtails smelling like this within a day. That just goes to show that it was not fresh to begin with.
First time here. And well worth it! I had to stop inhaling my food to write this review before nothing was left. The food is burn ya tongue and the roof of your mouth GOOD!! I’m a big boy that normally buys a large for myself but I got a small and still had food to share with my lady that wasn’t with me
