The oxtail was not it. They poured regular powder brown gravy on the oxtail. Rice and peas and the steamed veggies were ok. I am disappointed at the quality of the food. I discovered this place back in 2019 while on a business trip and the food was really amazing, dont know what is happening but they need to reassess their business. The staff is courteous and polite but the food quality has gone down drastically.
If you’re looking for good Jamaican food in Petersburg you might want to try this first! I mean where do I start.. This was some of the best jerk chicken I’ve had. The chicken was smoked to perfection. The sauce was flavorful with a spicy kick, but not too hot. And that coco bread was soo delicious.
I don’t even leave reviews too often but this place really just vexed me. I wanted some jerk chicken & discovered this place. I came during normal lunch hours around 1145, and lo and behold, they don’t have anything even prepared?? Wow.
After 3 attempts to order different jerk chicken variations and they NOT having it, I just settled for something else altogether. My order didn’t seem like it even made it to the kitchen? 20 minutes later they were asking me what did I even order & then I eventually got my food and left.
First of all the place needs to be cleaned. You can’t dine in because there’s clutter and dust everywhere & there’s a pungent odor that hits you as soon as you walk in. All in all, just go somewhere else…this is not the place for your Caribbean dining experience.
The oxtail good but was dry I should said add gravy but I feel like I shouldn’t have to ….only if I want extra but there’s was 0 on the oxtail couldn’t enjoy the rice because of this because it was dry …..
got a plate full of grease cant even enjoy my food now cause it would probably have me sick , a refund would be nice
I eat here alot! Each experience different. I always get jerk chicken. When it's fresh it's supherb, sometimes I think I may get a left over plate. Well I bought a piece of carrot cake got thru most of it and realized the cake was moldy. It had mold fuzz all over it. So that's my last time. My suspicions were confirmed. They serve old food.
The food here is amazing! If you are looking for a great authentic Jamaican spot this is the place to go. I definitely recommend the Pepper Steak with Rice and cabbage
The oxtail was horrible. Nothing but gristle. The brown stew tasted like gravy. The rice and peas were alright. Nothing special, very basic. The roti was doughy.
