I ordered mixed Oxtails and curry goat with rice and beans, Mac and cheese and plantains everything was good but the goat was too spicy for me Definitely will be coming back
I have to be honest, the food was abysmal. I don’t like being negative, and this was only my personal experience.
Judging by the 4.4 star rating, it could’ve just been an off-day for the restaurant
Pros:
The customer service was great and they were very friendly.
The jerk chicken was pretty good
Cons: the stewed chicken had 0 flavor. The max and cheese had very little cheese/little flavor (see picture below). The plantain was VERY chewy (almost leathery) and had no salt or sweetness
This place is trash. The cabbage is blend never seasoned. The portion are overrated for the price you pay.
Most important they never wanna answer the phone when trying to place an order. And the sister of the owner who works mainly in the back is Always rude/short.
I tried 3 times thinking it would get better. Nothing has changed. Will never ???? give them another dollar ????
Based on the high ratings/decent reviews, I was expecting the food to be great. The oxtails were ok, nothing special. The cabbage was bland and barely cooked. The macaroni was dry, boxed mac n cheese. We never received our plantains. When I called to place the order, the lady was a little flippant on the phone when I inquired about methods of payment. I proceeded with the order though, thinking the food may still be good and wanting to give them a chance. For what we received for 2 platters totally over $40...let's just say we won't be returning.
The food is delicious here. I usually get the large jerk and curry chicken platters. I love the portions and the price. Glad I found this gem.
the only thing bad about this place is the hours. the food was toooo good. had the jerk chicken platter and coco bread. and then the prices are the best around. please never change the prices or quality my first time was a 10/10 just wish y’all were open through the week more
The BEST or some of the best carribbean food in the DMV! I've been a customer for more than a decade and this food is fantastic and consistent. They cook like they're cooking for family and you always feel like family when you walk through the door. Everything is wonderful but the oxtail and the pineapple ginger juice are my faves. Ill return as long as they're in business.
