I originally rated this place high as we came for drinks, enjoyed the view, and had friendly service... then I went for lunch two days later. A total mess! Took ages to order and to get drinks/appetizers/food, with some never showing up at all. To cap it all off, the waiter dropped a friend's debit card through the pier which the outdoor seating sits on. The wait staff seems to have never worked at a restaurant, as they were extremely incompetent (on that day, not the prior day though). Other than that debacle, the food selection was basic, with many of the few items listed (either from the fryer being broken, and/or them running out of the ingredients in the middle of the day). Prices were way too high ($14 for a hot dog, $16 for a very average burger). Granted this was near their opening, but this place was a total mess. I wanted it to succeed when we first checked it out and dealt with a couple road bumps, but we walked away with a very poor opinion. That opinion persisted after our visit, due to a promise to refund our bill, which never occurred. Got some colorful responses online regarding that claim, from the owner, to top it off. Personally, I cannot recommend.
We were so suprised to see the yelp reviews, we had an amazing time! The service was excellent, friendly staff, and food was so good! Eating over the lake with that view didn't hurt! We had the artichokes, the calamari, the chicken entree and the truffle egg salad wrap was delicious, we need the recipe! The staff was always present and I'm sure delivering the food down to the water from the hotel isn't easy. Make sure you ask about wine, they have an incredible selection. Appears the new ownership is getting things correctly pretty quickly! Can't wait to come back. Ask for Brandon, his service was excellent!
Had a great dinner here. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, food was fabulous. The Ahi Poke was fresh and a generous portion. After eating we wandered over to the main building where we met the delightful new owner. It was dark so we only got a hint of the incredible view/location.
We had an amazing meal with great service from the friendly staff. They just opened today , and although we didn't have a reservation, they put a table together for us and we dined on fish tacos, salmon, delicious burgers, calamari and prime rib french dip. The view is spectacular and the prices were great. We will go back for sure the next time we are in the area.
The atmosphere can't be beat. However, every other part of my experience here was a nightmare. The service was atrocious. The kitchen was equally as bad. After waiting for 1.5 hours for food, my cheeseburger was raw. The new owner of the restaurant apologized for our awful experience. I feel like the restaurant should shutter their doors until the wait staff has been properly trained and kitchen issues have been resolved.
Not bad. Under new management so still working out some staffing issues but the service we did receive was polite. Ran out of a coupe of beers, but the food was tasty. The view is what makes this place. Amazing view of the lake from the entire dining room.
LOVED this place. However, I'm giving one star because it's now only open for private parties/events. This was the only good place to dine ON the lake and still have amazing food. We came to Tahoe over July 4th hoping to relive our blissful salmon burger dining experience of 2012 and were highly disappointed. Hopefully someday they'll change back to regular lunch/dinner menu open to the public.
The view is great and a few years back the food was decent. However, the new owner is running this restaurant into the ground with atrocious service, food and a highly defensive staff. They lied to our faces to cover up their mistakes and made our experience very unpleasant. Other customers were equally disgruntled. Stay away from this place.
