This is a very underrated and understated excellent value seafood joint, with reasonable stone crab prices, fresh fish and an excellent NE clam chowder. Very relaxed environment with great drink selections as well. (If you enjoy good cooking and travel videos, please visit cuisineQuest on YouTube!)
WOW!! WHAT A GEM ???? This place was incredible. Our waitress Jody was so friendly and gave his amazing recommendations. We had the friend cracked conch (to die for)! So FRESH so TENDER! We also did the pan seared scallops (I NEVER eat them but the conch was so incredible I HAD TO!) soooo impressed. We did the combo, and the Snapper Fillet & Shrimp Escabeche. This place is truly incredible!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEDED!

Grouper fillet Blackened with sauteed spinach $25.99. Good flavor and portion.
A side of hush puppies $4.99.
Server Jody wasn't there so service lacked a little.

Celebrated a birthday here. Parked by this somewhat sketchy alley, but who cares? Place isn't elegant, it's kind of spare with an interesting interior. The food! Great stuff. Ate oysters on the half-shell, loved the shrimp and grits. Good service, our waiter brought everything out as it was finished by the chef instead of a giant tray of semi-hot food. Everyone enjoyed their food, ranging from lobster to fish sandwich. Some guy came up to our table and gave my granddaughter a $20.00 birthday gift! AMAZING! Are we coming back? You betcha!

Every year I look forward to stone crab season. This year I went back to Captain Jim's to check out theirs. PERFECT! I only order the medium-sized claws, believing they are the sweetest and most tender. They were everything I want in one of the greatest gifts the sea can give me. Took a chance on the conch chowder that was rich, flavorful, loaded with delicious conch and had a good balance between spice and heat. Loved that meal! Going once more time before stone crab ends. Prices are high but what can you do when the market prices are high?
Such a great find! Fresh and sleep is, I can taste the flavors just looking at the picture. Big serving, I could barely finish this dish!

The shrimp and grits are our favorite. Just so deliciously tasty. Good portion too.
However, I believe a few items are a little overpriced for what you get.
From the moment you enter you notice the cleanliness and freshness of this place. The tables all wiped clean, floors nice and clean, fresh fish and crab in ice at the front counter. The air was odorless unlike many small seafood joints.
Our server Yoselin was good and attentive and the food was excellent. The portion sizes were ample. We left satisfied.
The best seafood spot in Miami.
Stonecrabs. Oysters. Shrimp Po Boy and Fish Tail Sandwich. All spectacular.
