Great find on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Impressive selection of beers, delicious menu. Do not miss the pierogies. Fish tacos and smash burgers we're also top notch. Charlie and Tricia took excellent care of us at the bar.
I had an awesome lunch here at Capital Ale! The wings were perfectly cooked, and the Thai chili sauce is so tasty. Hayden was my bartender and she made my time here all the more enjoyable! Not only did she make me a delicious Bloody Mary, she made me feel like a friend the whole time I was sat at the bar :) I usually hate dining alone but she really made my visit fun! Will definitely be back!
Great brewery in downtown Fredricksburg. Inside was very clean and spacious, they have a lot of seating. Good happy hour, and we went on a Monday and they have Burger Mondays which was a great deal. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. We had the Fried Pickles and Chicken Pot Pie Rolls for appetizers. And my husband got the Mushroom & Grugyre double smash burger. All the food was great and the service was also. Plenty of on street parking.
Was not expecting such a great meal but was pleasantly surprised. The table shared the pretzel, sausage and cheese appetizer. I had the sirloin which was amazing and burgers and a sausage sandwich rounded out the order. All enjoyed. Our server was attentive and got everything right. They have upwards of 60 beers on tap and a huge offering outside that. Toughest decision was picking a beer. Highly recommend.
We went to Capital Ale House last night for our friends retirement dinner. My boyfriend and I had the perogies, french dip, beet salad, and the caprese chicken. The perogies were good but the presentation definitely is different from what I remember from previous visits. The French dip was AMAZING and something I would absolutely order again. The chicken was very tasty but the polenta cake was flavorless and cold. He loved his beet salad with the walnut vinaigrette. It was bright and earthy. Since there were a lot of people I was able to see a few of their other menu items. The mussels were fresh and delicious. The club sandwhich looked AWESOME and it was huge!! It made me want to order one to go ????. The loaded fries were sent back because they were soggy and just didn’t taste very good. They traded them in for plain wings and devoured them very quickly… so I’m assuming they were delicious.
Also Brian the bartender was awesome!
Everything was fantastic. The service was great and the food equal. The chicken sandwich was the best one we have ever had. Biting into the fried chicken sandwich was an experience. The crunch was so crispy, it could almost be described as flakey, and had the subtle touch of sweetness that every fried chicken sandwich should have. If the sandwich was cooked so well, you can only imagine the fries. My only complaint was the chicken on the salad. It was described as grilled, but had no signs of being grilled. It seemed to be baked a bit too long (I mean look at the picture) But the lettuce and veggies were fresh. Our burger was also wonderful. I wish I would have taken better pictures, but my phone was almost dead
We had a great time. Hayden is our friend now. Great beer and peel and eat shrimp. I do suggest stopping in. Great atmosphere and friendly co patrons. Visiting for a graduation. Love the town of Fredericksburg.
I travel through this area approximately once a year. This has always been a fantastic place and continues to be so. One of the largest beer selections I have ever seen in my life. Not kiddy IPAs, but real beers from all around the world. Pretty bartenders and good prices. Keep me coming back. See you next year.
