During our stay at the adjoining hotel, we found ourselves drawn to Calypso Bar & Grill multiple times, and each visit was a delight. The food was delicious, the drinks were top-notch, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Plus, the location right on the ocean provided stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a refreshing drink by the beach, Calypso Bar & Grill is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the coastal vibes of Virginia Beach.

We really enjoyed this place for dinner. We loved the hummus app and I really enjoyed the pesto pasta with chicken. Kids meals were a great size and they also loved the Mac n cheese, cheeseburger, and chicken. My boyfriend enjoyed the pork sandwich and the fish platter. We liked this place a lot and recommend it if you're in the area. They do add 20% gratuity on the check automatically and there is a 90min limit on table service. They also have great mixed drinks and an inside bar. Can't beat this place right on the beach/boardwalk.
First time here, staying at the Surfbreak Oceanfront & it’s the adjoining restaurant. Service was fast, waitstaff was friendly, food was delicious & filling. Crab cakes were large, had to ask for a box, sweet potato fries were hot & delicious. Mermaid’s Kiss mixed drink was VERY good.
Saw this place recommended on a Tik Tok and it didn't disappoint. We ordered wings, shrimp platter and fish Tacos. We were there on a Sunday evening and live music was playing. All the food was very tasty. Our server stated it was just her second day on her own and she did just fine. We will try to make it back for happy hour which has 99 cents wings. I would definitely go back.
The waitress was lovely and we love the live music but our food… not so good. Our wings were dried out our Mac and cheese was not Mac and cheese it was just noodles and very dry we also order a medium well steak ( surf and turf) and it came back very done and dry the shrimp had no seasoning on it and our sweet potatoes fries was burnt . Our broccoli was great tho. Overall the experience was okay. But I’m pretty sure I will not eat here again.
I went at like around 10 pm and the vibes were off. Me and my friend kept getting stared at when we went. The staff was rude and only really talked to us to ask for ID and nothing else. We felt so uncomfortable we left five minutes into being there. Maybe it would be better in the day time but I’m definitely not gonna try again.
Great atmosphere with live music. Super fast service with friendly servers. Raw oysters were fresh, Bacon wrapped Scallops were good too. I had the El Cubano sandwich it was good also. On the boardwalk with a nice view of the ocean.
Great watering hole right on VA beach. Met friends for happy hour and had a nice time. Service was great. Appetizers were warm and filling but no standouts.
