Best WLM Reviews

There is a reason why all the reviews are one star in the past 6 months. This cafe Rio has some work to do. A kiosk only place for cafe Rio ruins the point of cafe Rio which is to build it on your own. I’m not sure if this is a business decision or simply because they don’t have the room but it is not a well functioning system. Ordered my food, wait wasn’t too long but there was some confusion among many customers about which bag was their’s. The way they called out everyone’s names were very quick and not punctual.
The food was also not good. I got my burrito and they put the wrong type of beans. Went back up to the counter to get it changed and once they did make my new burrito, they had burnt the tortilla. Never had a worse burrito. I really like cafe Rio and have eaten at many different locations. This cafe Rio needs some changes, it is horrible compared to any of their other locations.
Worst Cafe Rio experience ever!
We visited on May 22nd 5:00-ish.
I hate the kiosk locations.
1. Kiosks didn't work
2. It took the worker 5 minutes to take our order and got the wrong order. 1 item was a chicken elote bowl, she did a build your own bowl with no elote!
3. Tortillas were old and NOT fresh, very dry.
4. Barely any sauce on the smothered even though they charge you more.
5. Wasn't warm, cheese not melted
So bad I took everything out of the tortilla.
Avoid this location!
We love Cafe Rio and usually eat at one by our house. We decided to get one on the way home and tried the Woodscross restaurant. Never again! One of our salads had 2 dirty lids under the corn tortillas. We had 3 dressings and they all have their lids and you can see in the picture the 2 different sized lids next to them. Lost my appetite for mine but my daughter was so hungry so we asked them to remake it. The staff was indifferent and made it. They seemed put out when I reminded them I paid for extra meat and an extra dressing. Then when my daughter went to eat, noticed there wasn't any corn tortillas. I took it back to the staff and they yelled from across the kitchen instead comimg up to me, that they only had 1 tortilla left and it is at the bottom. They didn't even bother to let us know or offer a different tortilla option. Only after I asked for the manager's name of Fernando did they apologize. I do not recommend this location at all. They don't even make the salad in front of you to see it and then you order through touchscreens or on your phone app. So, if you need to talk to the staff you have to wait until one of them pops around the corner by the drive thru or yell back for someone.
I used to love going to Cafe Rio! The last 2 times we ordered the food have been subpar at best. The lettuce was in such big pieces that it's ridiculous!! They don't make the food the way we order it, and they put hardly any meat or rice in our salads. If that's not bad enough, we found 4 lettuce head cores in the 2 salads we ordered had a total of 5 in them. It's totally unacceptable! The burrito we ordered didn't have the sauce we ordered and paid for on it.
Sadly, I hope everyone reading this DOES NOT go to Cafe Rio in Woods Cross!! The staff are rude as well!!
Showed up at 6:10 pm on a Wednesday night. Lights all on, chairs down, people working the drive thru. Doors all locked. No sign on the door saying why they were locked, and according to the hours posted on the door, they were open. We made eye contact with people in the kitchen, and they just looked at us and kept on going with their conversation. I had a few people with me, and we didn’t want to do drive thru; we wanted to sit down and eat our meal. But no, we couldn’t do that and there was no explanation why. We decided to eat at a different establishment.
We've eaten Cafe Rio for years. We love that they now have drive thru as an option. Occasionally we've had issues, but nothing serious. Tonight was the exception. We started eating our food. I had ordered the new Chicken & Elote Bowl, which I was really excited about (I love Mexican street corn). I bit into the first piece of chicken, and the texture alerted me that something was wrong. I spit out the piece of chicken, and found that it was raw. I dug through the bowl to find other pieces, and they were all the same. It looked as if they had started with a chicken breast, seared the outside without cooking it through, cut it up and put it in the bowl. It was awful, and recalling a time as a kid when I was served raw chicken and ended up with salmonella poisoning, I completely lost my appetite. I just hope I don't get sick.
I called the phone number listed on Google, and was sent to a call center. The woman I talked to took down the information, and offered either a credit to my store account, or refund to my credit card. She said that a refund would take 15 days (which seems ridiculous), but I opted for the store credit. She also said that she would be contacting the store so that it doesn't happen again. I hope that they take this seriously, as it could cause serious illness.
If I do come down with food poisoning, I will definitely be following up.
We’ve been to this location probably 10 times in the last year, and every single time they have messed up our order. I rarely write negative reviews because I understand that things happen sometimes, but the consistency here is telling. Along with always getting our orders wrong, we’ve noticed that many of our visits also included undercooked rice and brown lime wedges. We used to be big Cafe Rio fans and eat it regularly, but definitely will be looking for other options now. The quality seems to have really gone down hill in the last few years.
Ordered nachos, chips were stale, rice was undercooked, and the meal made me quite sick for two days. Will not be returning to this location or perhaps any location after this to be honest.
I see the owner replying to all the negative reviews, hiring better staff, training them sufficiently, and being involved in your business are probably better methods of improving your restaurant rather than canned replies where obviously nothing is being done to actually address the issues.
