Best WLM Reviews
A very small quaint place, only 6 tables in the entire place. In previous reviews the owner got a lot of negative reviews but he was very friendly with us. Yes he does the majority of the cooking and serving, but was very efficient , he had one other server on that night as well, but again it’s a small place.
The food is homemade authentic but everything has a sweetness to the sauces, that is not my favorite and why I gave it a 3. If you like that style of sauce then you will love it.
I ordered Uber eats but called before and he helped me get the gluten free. My complaint is the pasta was NOT cooked enough. It was definitely not just adente but too hard/ underooked. Disappointing! Gf pasta is made from rice so it really needs to be cooked well or it is like eating undercooked rice. And they charged me extra for this undercooked gluten-free pasta. Also it was swimming in alfredo so I'd suggest less cream sauce. See photo, which is mostly just cream sauce, and this is after I poured some of it off initially. Nice gentleman on the phone, though!
First time me & my children patronizing this place the decor was really nice but I was disappointed with my food I ordered a Sicilian pizza and it was half baked. I ate plenty of Sicilian pizzas never experience having anything like this the pizza was nothing but dough underneath the cheese I told the cook he just says "Oh that's how all Sicilian pizza are made. Since when??? Very disappointed in the service and food. The only thing that came out fully baked was my 10 inch godfather pizza. It was ok. Definitely have to find a better spot to eat at next time. See pics that's all dough now cheese????????????
A small unassuming place in a strip mall. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and it was fabulous! The real deal! I've had marsala at many other restaurants in Sarasota, and they were terrible. Many were sent back. This, however, is authentic and delicious! Tender meat, plentiful sauce and yummy. The best!
I am SO SO glad that I stopped here for lunch. Y'all know my penchant for Italian food (I AM Italian..lol) and I had a hankering for pesto. This was almost as good as mine..hell they're from Brooklyn. ???????? if you're in Sarasota, make sure you stop here.
We do family pizza night every Saturday and thought we had been to every place in town. We were surprised to learn of Cafe Amalfi and on a tip from a stranger we gave it a try. We dropped in on a Saturday at about 8p and there were only 2 other tables seated so it was quiet. The service was really good (pretty sure he was the owner). The food came out super quick, almost surprising fast, yet it was perfectly cooked. The pizza crust was thin, but not too thin, it was just thick enough to give nice stability but not so dough’ie that you felt stuffed after one piece. The crust flavor was outstanding. The fresh mushrooms were the best we’ve ever had on a pie, hearty slices so they didn’t cook down to mush. French fries were good too, steak fries. It’s not a complaint, but a comment, the French Fry appetizer portion is kinda small. We ended up with like 15 to 18 fries per order so keep that in mind based on the size of your group and passion to crush fries. All in all, great find and we’ll certainly visit again.
Had the best calzone and angel hair pasta ever! The meatballs were delicious as well. To finish an incredible dinner, we indulged in the creme brulee. Fantastic!!! Thank you John.
We visited here this afternoon for lunch. We've talked about visiting for quite a while but haven't had the time to drop in. Well after today we are SUPER glad we stopped and ate because it was delicious and everything was very authentic. Restaurant at first appearance walking in was much nicer than expected and the owner took great care of us. The Antipasto was perfect with plenty of meat and just the right amount of greens. (Very little). The Stromboli's were delicious and my wife's fried Eggplant parmesan was to die for according to her. Please go check out this locally owned restaurant and you won't be disappointed! Thank you for the great experience, delicious food and authenticity!
