This is a hard one to rate because the back of the house was excellent. Our server was phenomenal and was tipped accordingly, but getting to the table was a disaster. To avoid long Mothers Day wait for dinner we booked reservation for 5 at 5pm. We arrived around 4:35 and checked in. Then had to check in again because the Hostesses restarted their check-in list. At one point we were the only people in the lobby waiting to be seated, then five families showed up and guess what happened, the Hostess restarted her seating list again, this time with us not on it! After she was about to seat another table of 5 ahead of us, after we’d waited 40 minutes, I approached the Hostess to be met with an “Oh well, sorry, we’re short staffed, we’ll get to you….” Only then be asked if we even wanted to stay for dinner! How in the world does a reservation and check in list get so bad it is restarted over and over again? We were literally the only people waiting for our table at one point for 15 minutes, only to be pushed to the back of the line when all those up people showed up at 5. I have hypoglycemia and when the time for me to eat came and went I started to get sick and ended up starting off dinner shaking and dizzy from low blood sugar. So yeah, Happy Mothers Day to me.
So in essence, Waitress was 5 starts, Hostesses 1, food 3. I won’t reserve a table there next year.
Takeout order for dinner, eggplant parm and chicken parm. Unfortunately, the only thing good was the sauce and bread. Chicken was thick, tough not delicately sliced as it should be. Eggplant suffered the same fate, so thick and spongy that a knife could not cut through certainly not baked after being fried. Just large giant fried pieces with sauce and cheese put on right before serving (ugh). Hopefully, preparing thin will be brought back.
Had a wonderful dinner here on 5/18/2024. The food was excellent, but the service was impeccable! Our server, Madeline, went above and beyond. I would recommend Cafe 422 in Warren to anyone looking for an awesome dining experience.
One of the most disappointing meals had in a loooooong time. Firstly the salads, zero flavor small portions, strike 1. Then my 12 oz prime rib was chewy and unseasoned, mashed potatoes left a lot to be desired, stroke 2. Lastly the raviolis, if you like your raviolis bland and your sauce tasting like peppers and not tomatoes, then this embarrassment of a dish is for you, strike 3. All in all, the food was incredibly underwhelming and overpriced for what I received, will never return.
The ambiance, food, and service are wonderful. I have never had a bad meal at Café 422. The ambiance on the bar side of the restaurant is particularly cozy. It has just the right amount of lighting, among several other pluses. The food is fresh, of high quality, and very good. The service has always been great.
I particularly want to mention the two bartenders, Sherry [or Cherie, I don't know how she spells it] and Paige. I am a regular there. Without even asking, they both know what I drink, and as they've gotten to know me more, they've brought it over without even asking. Sherry is awesome and seems very kind. She's a very focused bartender, never writes down orders, and is always on the move. Paige is also focused and very personable. She too knows the regulars' orders and gets to know many of them pretty quickly. They both take excellent care of their customers.
Lastly, I was at Café 422 a week ago with a friend and had a very good experience with Jessica, one of the servers [we sat in a booth in the bar area, not at the bar itself]. She provided good service and was also personable and warm. She did everything to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

They were kind, attentive, and helpful to us during a family engagement dinner and the place was packed with patrons.
I saw great customer service and attention to detail during our time at Cafe 422 in Boardman.

We ate at Cafe 422 and had Jessica G as our waitress. She did an amazing job and was very attentive to our needs. The food was good. We will definitely be returning again!
We came in for a dinner party. From the start very unorganized. Started with calamari which wasn't bad. I ordered a full rack of ribs. They were the last to come out and tasted like yesterday leftovers very disappointing. Also their full rack is only three quarters of a rack you got one half rack and then half of a half rack. The kids grilled cheese was bigger then their mouths and had a hard time eating them. They didn't bring the kids food out till last also. Good luck if you choose this place! At least the cake is good!
