Best WLM Reviews

It's so nice here! Great for a date spot. The server didn't visit our table super frequently but the atmosphere is everything! Super pretty interior and the drinks are amazing. Will definitely be coming back :)
Two weeks ago, my girlfriend had gone out of her way to cap a long week of celebrating my birthday with a slice of cheesecake. She chose Cafe Intermezzo.
I chose a slice of the B-52, after both she and the server explained its make-up. She had chosen a slice of the Hazelnut cheesecake. There was some delays with being served the slices. By the look of things, there was a disconnect between the bar and dessert bar, both verbally and technologically, between machines. Our order was to go, so it should have been a simple transaction for the sweets.
Even when we received the slices, the server offered us the make-up of the Hazelnut slice. It was in part made with Nutella. This caused my girlfriend to hesitate over taking the cheesecake, but given the prior delays, she accepted the slice and we went home. I asked that she not worry about the server trying to gaslight her. (Though from solitary experiences I had to wonder if the server was warning us something was a miss with the cheesecake slices.)
After stealing away for home and having an official birthday celebration there and included blowing out the candle my B-52 slice held, we settled to enjoy the slices over a movie. Turns out, both slices tasted like plain cheesecake. (Had the chef infuse themselves with the orange, coffee, and Kahlua and then gorge themselves on Nutella?)
It was very disappointing, especially having to go back and chat with the hostess at the front about how the server tried to gaslight my girlfriend about Nutella being used for the Hazelnut slice. I mean, my girl loves Nutella, but for a $12 slice of cheesecake...why?
I am unsure what happened the evening we visited Cafe Intermezzo, but I look forward to giving it a second chance.
This establishment has been a go to for years for pastries, coffee and other delicacies. Mostly geared towards after dinner dates or brunch with friends. Best to have a sweet tooth when going to these locations. I can’t say there is anything I don’t recommend on their menu.
Although some of the savory food offerings need a bit of work, the desserts and service is excellent. Hats off to Ms. Cartier and her team for her five star service. Established in 1979 this Atlanta icon is still going strong and there is not another cafe that rivals the service and atmosphere of cafe intermezzo. Brian has established something that will never be forgotten.
Make sure you get the Carmel cappuccino…so good! The atmosphere is so quiet and romantic! Love this spot as a date night spot for my husband and me. The phone booth outside is a cute photo spot!
This is a hidden gem. I asked the wait staff for their recommendation - Salmon and Caper Pasta. It was sooooo good! Creamy and not over powering. Cafe Briocco with Amaretto for dessert, a perfect ending.
My overall rating for the different areas is not high, but I do actually really enjoy this place. If I was closer to this location, I'd go more often. The vibe here is very chill and perfect to just grab a drink, whether a coffee, wine or etc and sit in the open patio area and sip on it, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. Not only that, but this is a great date spot. They have areas that definitely give you that really romantic feeling, but also, the patio areas are that nice mix of intimate and casual. There's potential for spending a bit so word of caution if a date is your plan.
The food is decent. Nothing mind-blowing, but just well done that you don't feel like you're getting ripped off. If you're not feeling something heavy, you can get a charcuterie board that you can customize to fit your party size, whether 1 person or many. The sweets here are great though. I've enjoyed all the pastries and cakes they have available. Definitely won't go wrong there.
Now, I rated the service low cuz I've had such a mix of experiences. Last time I went I had a wonderful experience. Constant checking up on me, food and drink brought out in a very timely manner, and the overall feel was great. Another time I've gone, it took 10 to 15 min or more to let us know they didn't have something we asked about and it even got to a point I wasn't even sure they were coming back to check on us and we still hadn't even got our check yet. Then, my worst time I went, it was around 9 to 10pm. I came in to get a coffee and a light meal and I felt quite ignored after being seated. I sat for at least 15 min before my server even came by. It was long enough I saw a table of 4 sit down about 5 mins after me, and they had enough time to order drinks and have them brought to them before my server came by. The rest of night went like this. I was ready to never come here again, but every time before that was a great experience. These two bad experiences were multiple years apart, but I remember those incidents and it's something I have to think about when going.
Ideally, I hope none of you who reads this have a bad experience here as most of my visits have been exceptional, but I have to mention it. Overall, I still highly recommend this place, but it has its issues here and there. Give it a try, it's worth it if you enjoy more upscale café experience
We stopped by just to pick up dessert but decided to have a bite to eat. The food was really good, ambience excellent, our waitress was attentive. The manager went above and beyond to accommodate our request.
