I like tea with convinsing taste of tea so I used 3 tea bags on my single cup of tea, I was charged for three cups of it, it is tea bags they are selling me not neccesarily tea. Most reastaurant i have been to will even put few tea bags on the table and few sugars n milk for you to use and choose the tea and mix you want.
This place sold me individual teabags.
I used.
First time it happened to me. Have never been charged for extras i added or did not add in my hot bevarage.
Will not ask them but I feel it was not fare or reasonable as people taking coffee may normally get cuts reffilled. Plus all they did is get me hot water I did the rest.
Jesus christ, 7$ is an expensive cup of tea that you make yourself, 6.87$ to be precise.
Huge restaurant. They were busy and had a 10 min wait, but there's a store with clothing and gift stuff. You can shop at the bakery while you wait, also.
5 star service and great food. We all loved our meals. I would go back!
The food we had was served quickly and was quite good, no complaints. Typical truck stop food, really good overall and a lot of it for the money. There also was a DC fast charger in the parking lot (50kw) that worked great while we ate our lunch.
Came here on a Friday evening. It was very full! We were impressed how soon we got our order placed. To think how busy it was!! Food was very amazing! Especially the cod fish meal. Our family enjoys coming here????
Overall good. Kathy was our waitress. She was better than average for attentiveness by checking on us frequently, but my tea was gone for a while before she asked if I wanted another. But she acted in a professional manner by not interrupting conversation and seemed genuinely interested if the meal was decent enough. Food was okay. I ordered breakfast of chopped steak and eggs. Steak had good flavor. There was no pink, however. I had ordered medium well. Rye toast was touched with butter but not spread on the toast. It was dry and hard.
My companion ordered the ocean perch lunch. It was presented well. Fries were great. One of the fish pieces was thicker and was tough and chewy. Otherwise it was flavored well with a nice crisp crust. Corn served with the plate was standard canned field corn. Nothing worth taking the time to chew and eat.
Today we ordered dessert. I has the raspberry cream cheese pie. My fiance had a lemon meringue. The crust on both was anemic, leaving a lard and flour taste. No salt for seasoning. The meringue was not fully cooked, leaving a runny egg white over the middle of the pie.
Raspberry pie was thick and rich.
Overall, we'd visit again if we were hungry and passing by, but won't go out of our way to return.
I want to start off that my waitress last night was amazing. The older gentleman that sat is on the other hand was not. My parents come through here a few times a year and never have had a problem so I thought I would come try them out on my way back home to Minnesota with my kids. My son’s food was fine but my daughter and I had Alfredo and it was horrible. The worst part was the chemical taste. I was not the only one who had complained and when my waitress asked if everything was okay I told her it wasn’t. Then the older gentleman came over and I told him the same thing, he took my dish and came back out and told me his chef tasted it and it was completely fine. I had both of them taken off my bill and asked for a grilled cheese for my daughter and declined anything for me because that gentleman gave me the worst experience ever. And what made it worst was when he berated my waitress in front of other customers. I felt sorry for her. Last night was my first time going there and it will be my last never again will they get me to come back. I’m just glad that neither my daughter and I got sick from it
Food was delicious. Portions are just right. It was my first time eating at the restaurant. I usually use the truck stop part and grab a Subway. I will definitely make time to stop here everything I come through. Highly Recommend to my fellow Drivers.
Went to get a sub at Subway which adjoins this restaurant. Saw there was a buffet for about the same price as a sub meal, so I thought I would check it out. I asked to be seated at a booth which seemed to annoy the waitress as I was alone. She asked if I wanted to sit at the counter instead, to which I replied no. She said I would have to sit in the back, though there were multiple open booths next to the counter. I said that was fine, and was ushered to a booth along the far side of the restaurant. I ordered the buffet and a coffee. The buffet had salad, fried chicken, ham, veggies, mashed potatoes and gravy, French toast, French toast sticks, eggs, some desserts, and a few other items.
I took some fried chicken, mashed potatoes, ham, and eggs. I have to say, the fried chicken was very good. Nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly and was juicy and tasty. From there, things went downhill. The potatoes were ok, nothing special, but not bad. The ham had a strange flavor, obviously they were going for something different, but missed the mark. The eggs were very dry and very bland, hard to screw up scrambled eggs, but these were terrible. During the meal, my coffee never showed up. I finally saw another waitress who finally brought me some coffee.
I went back and got some French toast and French toast sticks, and both were lacking. The toast had little flavor, not much egg, and left me wondering if was made fresh. The sticks were also not very good as the ends were quite hard as if they had dried out. The syrup was also nothing special, a shame when there are maple syrup shops in the locale. I did not get an offer for a refill until after I had finished, though a couple of waitresses walked by my table freshening up other diners coffee
It's too bad as I usually really enjoy small town diners. I left this one regretting that I didn't stick with my plan to go to Subway.
