Best WLM Reviews

We ordered the butchers platter with pork belly, brisket and burnt end upgrade, with sides corn bread, Mac and cheese and cheese fries.
For us the food was okay, neither good nor bad. Pork belly was nice. Brisket was quite tender but the flavor of the meat or sauce did not help. Burnt end was also okay.
The lack of seasoning was clearer in the sides, especially the cornbread, which was I was looking forward to in a BBQ joint.
In terms of service, it was okay, but we ordered extra cornbread since we didn’t realize the platter came with cornbread and it would have been nice to be informed of that.
Pretty good!! Wasn’t really expecting much from NY southern style bbq after being disappointed so many times but this was a great surprise. The service was great! The baked mac and cheese (without the chili lol) was solid, the crispy burnt ends brisket and dry rub ribs were delicious. We got the chicken tenders to and THAT’S a good chicken tender right there. The baked beans had too much onion while the beans were undercooked. The cornbread is terrible. Hard pass. But I’m definitely coming back for those ribs burnt ends and chicken tenders !!
Delicious food. Excellent BBQ flavors. Except one meat, I wouldn’t order ribs again. It is too small and not tasty as the other meet. Good cold beers and lovely servers.
Went for brunch. I had the burnt ends and scrambled eggs with a side of french toast and cornbread. The burnt ends were very good. Tender, seasoned well and not overpowered by smoke. Definitely best burnt ends I have in new york and best since I was in Texas. Didnt need extra bbq sauce but pairing it with the table habenero n sweet/spicy sauce worked well. Eggs were soft and not overdone. The french toast was good. Love when challah bread is used. Gives the toast extra body. The cornbread was surprisingly good for not being what I expected. Soft, chewy, sweet, but not too sweet, and the hint soft corn was welcoming. The butter it came with really paired well.
The staff is friendly, and attentive. The menu prices, are very reasonable. It wasn't crowded, and I got my food kinda fast. The Meat Candy Burnt Ends are a popular choice for appetizer. It definitely tasted better with the sauce. I was suprised at how good the creamy Mac & Cheese were. It was on point. The Smoked BBQ sandwich was very good as well.
We were only a couple of the few guests around since we were there in between meal times, but the longer we stayed, the more people showed up. The food was phenomenal. The burnt ends and pork were so juicy and tender. The Animal Burger had a delicious sauce that leveled up the taste of the meat. The mac&cheese and butcher fries were pretty average as sides go but if you add the sweet and spicy bbq sauce, it definitely takes it up a notch. Only downside was the music being a bit spotty. I think they were working out the kinks as we came in but halfway through, it worked itself out.
What an amazing place to go. Between the food and atmosphere, I give it an A+. After going here once, this is now mine and my husbands regular Friday night dinner place. Kathy sure does know how to run a restaurant and make her customers feel like they are family. MUST HAVE THE MEAT CANDY it’s to die for. Actually, it all is.
Ordered delivery. Got burnt ends, brisket sandwich, pork sandwich, and chicken strips.
Boy am I surprised! This brings me back to the days of when I was a young boy in the south enjoying BBQ on a porch. My favorites were the pork sandwich and burnt ends. The burnt ends were especially wonderful and reminded me of the best burnt ends I've ever had.
I feel like the flavors are on the lighter side compared to more modern BBQ establishments. Some foodies may criticize this but to me this is what properly cooked BBQ in the South should taste like. Mind you there are many categories of BBQ and this is a quite specific one that is done really well.
This place is definitely going on my list of nostalgia inducing favorites.
Edit: ordered the Mac and cheese and had to come back to update ya'll on how good it is. Mac and cheese purists be warned there is a very thin layer of chili, then crusted cheese and real bacon bits. They also bake it in the tray that gets delivered and may be one of the best delivery items I have ever ordered. Would recommend.
