Best WLM Reviews
The food was really good. Everything must be cooked to order because the food was piping hot. The burgers do come dressed so be aware of that. They are cash only which makes sense because the cost is dirt cheap. While the food was great the service could have been friendlier. Also, almost all the tables were dirty.
Initially, we came here yesterday. However, I did insufficient research beforehand, as they are cash only, and they don't have a nearby ATM. However, don't let that discourage you, if you can, this place is so worth finding somewhere to get the cash you need to pay the bill at time of placing your order. Depending on your party, and everything that you order, I think $8.50-$9 is a good estimate for the per person cost of a meal here, if you want to get drinks and fries.
However, let's talk about today, I came back with cash, so we could experience this restaurant as a part of our 4 day weekend from Huntsville, AL. It's hard to explain how glad I am that we came back, because this place is really good for everything that it is.
Some key phrases and words, I think I could conjure up to describe this place as; Delightfully Vintage, Simple, Lowkey, Inexpensive, High Quality, and Good Tasting Food.
For two people, we spent under $17 for two double cheeseburgers, two medium drinks, and two large fries. Its contemporaries could possibly under cut it in price, however the quality of a meal you'll get from those places, could never fathom to touch what this place was able to achieve, especially for the money.
I'd absolutely come back, if I lived here, or even closer than 5 hours away. I'd be sure to put this as one of the top places to make sure to come back to.
This place was like a visit to my childhood, it tasted like the old McDonalds but better. Very cheap too! And with prices rising this place was very refreshing. Be sure to bring enough cash as they’re cash only, a $20 would probably feed 3-4 people depending on what you get.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. The food was always great and the employees were always nice. These new teenagers with the bad attitudes are a miss. The blonde girl taking orders could use some retraining, her attitude is ridiculous. I ordered a double cheeseburger and fries. I gave her $10 and she only gave me loose change back so I asked what I was charged for and she said 2 cheeseburgers and fries. I told her I only said 1 and she got an attitude and told the girl making the burger that I only want one now then gave me the difference with nothing but attitude. Then proceeded to lie and tell who I believe is a manager that I only gave her $4 for everything and said I changed my mind after I paid. Normally they yell the order out, she didn't do that. You heard me wrong, didn't repeat the order back then got an attitude for no reason. She has a bad attitude every single time we come in, we won't be back.
This place is a Lexington tradition that dates back long before my time. I can remember coming here with my grandfather as a tiny kid. It’s so simple and delicious at the same time. Flame grilled burgers, fries, and milkshakes at very reasonable prices. Just make sure that you bring cash, because that’s all that they accept for payment. I definitely recommend giving them a try if you’re in the area.
This place is a little treasure. I wish I had tried it out earlier. I've passed it so many times on work trips to Lexington, KY. They remind me of the old school chili dogs and burgers from when I was younger. The fries were good also. They have a drink machine which has this distinctively sweeter Sprite that I love.
The fries were great. The burger was okay. I'd rate the chicken sandwich a little better than the burger. All worth eating again if I'm on that side of town and want an inexpensive, but still relatively good meal. Fed lunch to three for about $16, but we did all get water.
Burgers Shakes has been around for decades. It's a no frills, affordable burger joint that will fill your stomach for almost half the price of other fast food establishments. And it's pretty fast.
I understand their shakes are quite good although I haven't had one myself. Other friends and family members have enjoyed them.
Love this place. Always have. Been eating here for at least 25 years. The food is so good & I think the same family owns it. Either way it's definitely way better than any Burger King, McDonald's or any fast food chain.
