Great burgers and fries! The ice cream options are all good as well. This establishment has been serving goodness since the 50’s. This is not the “Burger King “ that you know as a chain restaurant. This is the original with a great story to tell.
Was in the area for work and had to give this place a try. My burger was just okay and didn't feel like there was anything special about the fries. I'll give them another try however when I'm back in town and get a different burger. The ice cream however is delicious. It would definitely be worth a stop here just for the ice cream.
My favorite burger joint!! This is where we like to go for "date-night on a weeknight". Quality is always top-notch! I've been coming here for almost 40 years and I ain't stoppin' anytime soon!

This place is an absolutely amazing! The original Burger King, established in 1952 way before the commercial chain, and these guys won a lawsuit to keep the name. The service here is amazingly friendly, served with courtesy and very genuine smiles! I got a "double hooter"(a double qtr pounder burger) and fries with a large drink for 12 dollars! This place is an absolute relic and gem of the area! Come here for the nostalgia and the great food! You will be undeniably satisfied!
The food for the price is very agreeable. The only reason for missing 5th star is that the Hooter Burger was about as thin as a Steak N Shake or Freddie's patty. Did not feel close to a 1/4 pound. My Wife got the cheaper Double Cheeseburger and got way more meat. Now, with that said, it was still worth the price and a good flavor. Service was fast, and options for food, such as appetizers/sides/sauces were plentiful. Will eat here again.
I cannot praise this place enough, the burgers are great and the fries are some of the best I have ever had. The milkshakes are super nice, the food is what fast food should be, fast tasty and friendly. The prices are amazing too, this is the true burger king.
On my last flight to Champaign for work, I decided to take a side trip to Mattoon to check out the original Burger King restaurant. Inside, it is dimly lit with good table spacing and an old school diner feel. On the nose you have the delicious aroma of sizzling burgers and fries in the air. I liked the ambience a lot! I really enjoyed the jr cheeseburger (I had just eaten somewhere else with a friend), which had a flattened type of beef patty similar to Freddy's where I live except with a smaller town, non-chain, home kitchen flare to it. The fries were wonderful also, and the service was super friendly with happy youthful folks working there. I would highly recommend going to the original Burger King if you're ever in this part of Illinois.
Fantastic food, great and efficient service, and it's got a nice classic feel when you walk in. I've wanted to come to this Burger King since I first read an article about it years ago. It's incredible to think that I just accidentally stumbled on it while looking for a dentist. The smash burgers are great, the fries are nice and crispy, and I'm obsessed with their mozzarella sticks. I got all that and a drink for under $15 too? This is clearly the Superior Burger King.
