If you like dry, overcooked burgers that leave a bad aftertaste lingering for hours, you will love these burgers! I want to be very clear that this review is for the Burgatory at PPG Paints Arena. I've always had a good experience at the local restaurants.
Dry burgers, burnt chips.

My first visit to Pitt and a Penguins home game too. looking for a fantastic burger and read reviews which were very positive, even best burger ever statements....so we ate at the stadium. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST BURGER EVER!! charred, dry, zero flavor, bun hard as rock, maybe teaspoon of bbq sauce, 1/4 slice of bacon!!!!...I LOVE burgers and get them all over when travel, extremely disappointed.
It is arena food, so they know they have you and charge more than they do in the resteraunt for food that isn't as fresh. 2 burgers, a bottle of water, 1 order of fries. $50. I asked for a cup of water and was told no. I bought the $6 bottle of water and asked for an empty cup to split it and was also told no. I walked to the next vendor and they gladly gave me a cup of water. There are plenty of great resteraunts around the arena. Just eat before you go in. The food wil be better and it will save $$$.
The Burgatory at PPG Paints Arena is great way to get a burger and milkshake fast while checking out some sports. I was there for the NCAA March Madness tourney.
The line moved really quickly and our food was ready pretty quick. There are only 3 burger choices and 2 milkshakes to pick from but due to these limited selections you get served quickly. I really enjoyed my burger the only knock I would have on it is that the bacon on it wasn't very crispy. It was instead more of a chewy bacon. That wasn't an issue for me but I could see where some bacon enthusiasts might be bothered by this.
I had a salted caramel pretzel milkshake and it was fantastic. The caramel flavor was really strong and there were chunks of pretzel in the shake. Quite tasty. My wife had the chocolate chip cookie shake and let me try it. I think it's a bit better than the salted caramel shake. Lots of chocolate chips in it and it tasted with a chips ahoy milkshake basically.
Now this is an instance of eating food at a venue. As such it's a bit expensive. My burger was about $15 and the milkshake $10 as well. That said for arena food prices that's about on par with the other food available at the arena.
Asked for a mid rare burger and got one well done and cold. My wife asked for the same and got a cold well done burger too. The fries were hot and it only cost $50. Save your money and go to McDonald's because at least there you know what to expect. Very disappointing especially after going to other Burgatory restaurants.

The absolute best burger ever
It is a big serving size. Arrived hot fresh and delicious within 20 minutes. Fries were standard . Would definitely recommend this place ,they have alot to offer on their menu .
