My crew of 3 stopped in for lunch today (first visit). I thought parking would be hard to find, but we got a spot just about in front of the door. We were greeted as we entered and seated immediately.
My friends ordered Fried whiting with green beans and potato salad, and a Chicken finger appetizer with a side of yams and mac & cheese. They enjoyed it. I sampled some of the mac & cheese, it was very good. I ordered the Stuffed Red Snapper with yams & potato salad sides. It was very tasty.
If I had any complaints it would be about the temperature of the food. It could've been a little more hot. My friends food was brought out, and mine came out a few minutes later. Not a big deal, but when you're out eating as a group, you want to eat together (everyone's food should be brought out at the same time).
Our server and other staff were professional, attentive and personable.
Wow! What an experience!!! Buon Appetito is a gem, the dinner music had me dancing in my seat along with the taste of every dish. We kept it local for a birthday celebration and were not disappointed.
We started with Sangria for the table, red and white. The Sangria here is my go to and the price is right!
For appetizers we had the meatballs, which we wish we ordered more of, the eggplant rollitini was delicious, the buffalo wings were crispy and sauced to perfection and the catfish strips were the southern goodness I wanted.
Mrs. Wanda, the owner, brought us the Shrimp Scampi Pie and piping hot garlic knots right out of the oven, on the house. I can’t stop thinking about that pie.
For the main course we had the lobster dinner for the table, plentiful and rich in flavor. The garlic cream and garlic and wine sauce were both delicious. The scallops and shrimp were buttery and cooked perfectly and each of us had a lobster tail.
We ended our dinner with one of each dessert, each be better than the next. We had Lemoncello, Almond, Cheescake, Chocolate fudge and Carrot Cake.
And to top it off Shani made us Wanda’s shot and it was so good we couldn’t get enough.
Can’t wait to bring my family back!!!
What happened? I walked in and the place was completely empty - no customers - first time I ever saw that. Should have been my first clue.
The food here USED to be so good. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich but the chicken had absolutely no taste, no onions which I ordered and no mayo which I ordered. I looked for the rack of potato chips and that’s gone. I’m extremely disappointed with the “new” Buon Appetito. Will not be going back.
We don’t normally visit Bayonne for drinks or dinner, but when I heard about this new restaurant and bar and how good the food was and the atmosphere I took a trip out there. The Italian food and the soul food is amazing. I mean it’s really good! The bartenders were very friendly the smooth jazz made the atmosphere very nice. I’m definitely going back to visit with my friends.
Great place to eat for dinner and very delicious food! Food was flavorful and great! Waiter was very nice and it was very cool! Will definitely be coming back!!
Awesome time and food was great came to visit family, we went first day I came enjoy staff service and came back for happy hour that Saturday and hear some dope jazz!!! Highly recommend
My companion and I both ordered the same Main dish but with different sides. Her red snapper came out 10 minutes before mine with no sides. Then her one side, a salad came out. I still did not have mine. Then they brought out my main dish and a couple of minutes later brought out one of my sides. by this time, my companion was already eating her lukewarm food due to her hunger. Finally, they brought her second side. My second side was nowhere in sight and no one came to check. Finally I called over my server to tell her I still did not have my second side, and she informed me that the yams were cooking . I then asked if I can change to something that was ready and I changed it to macaroni and cheese. Both my companion and I were towards the end of our meal and I still did not have my second side. Eventually, another server who came on shift , started to check on our satisfaction. I told her about the fact that I had not received my second side order. She comes back about 5 minutes later and brings me the yams that I had originally ordered. By this time I had finished my meal and was not interested in eating anymore. The yams were the only thing that came out hot. Everything else was lukewarm. This was a really bad experience and I'm hoping that this comment will help them to do better.
Food was ok, but extremely overpriced. We paid $93 for one calamari, two pasta dishes and two drinks. That's insane in bayonne. The same thing would run you $70 at Sarelli's and be way better.
