Buddy's has good food and excellent service. This time I had a cup of creamy Italian sausage soup which was very unique and delicious, and a bacon cheeseburger. There is ample parking and seating even on league nights. It's a great small-town option.
Location Location Location. Lake Odessa may not be where you'd think it would be, but in this case right on the Public Beach with a great view of the water, Buddy's has it. The atmosphere is very rustic, but in a tasteful way. It feels friendly and inviting.
I ordered the Cowboy Burger ($13). This is a 6oz patty with Pepper jack cheese, bacon, crispy fried onions, and bourbon sauce on a Pretzel bun. I ordered it medium. The burger came correctly cooked and was delicious. It was juicy and the meat was of a good quality. I was worried that 6oz would be too small, but it was a perfect size. I upgraded to fries ($2). They were good, but nothing special. The person I was with ordered the Wolverine Burger ($12). This is also a 6oz patty with bleu cheese, bacon, crispy fried onions, and mustard on a Brioche bun. It was ordered Medium Rare and was cooked perfectly. It was stated to be excellent, and thoroughly enjoyed.
The Service was adequate. Not the best ever, but friendly and efficient-ish considering she was the only inside waitress. Food came out quickly and my drink was refilled without asking, so kudos to that.
Overall a 5 star review. I could knock off a tenth of a star or 2, but that would be looking for problems vs actual problems. Would I return? Absolutely. Great view with Great food.
Ordered the Ruben Sandwich minus the sauerkraut and added Cole Slaw! Just the best sandwich around!
We had the special - Smoked Pork Sandwich and it was wonderful!!! Especially with the Cole slaw on it !!!
We love Buddy’s on the Beach! The food and drinks are amazing. Plus you can’t beat that view of the water while you are eating. It’s great they have covered patio seating so you can enjoy the weather in the shade while you watch all the boats, swimmers, kayakers, etc. play in the water. Today we got a sub with waffle fries and it was amazing. The sun was huge and the fries had this amazing seasoning on them. We got takeout today so we didn’t get drinks, but they have AMAZING drinks. Plus bowling alley? What more could you want. Highly highly recommend!!
We popped in with short notice and a party of about 20 people and they made it work. Service was great. They have a dish that they called "Chicken tender bowl". Which I had and features: Hand cut, breaded & seasoned breast (clearly not out of a bag) over homemade mashed potatoes fresh corn and smothered with a flavorful chicken gravy. It's not on the regular menu, but if you like comfort food like THAT! It's a REALLY good one. Beer selection was good and we did a little bowling to burn it all off. Diverse menu with plenty to offer for all tastes.
Strong chance this is my new favorite restaurant. I googled places to eat in the area and they drew me in with a picture of a wet burrito. The burrito was amazing. Portion sizes are HUGE and we all loved it. The waitress was very attentive and fun. I will be back here any time we are in the area!
The ambiance is definitely great. The food was amazing. Service was friendly and prompt! We live pretty far away from here and we're attending an event and found this place! We would definitely return again!
