Buddy Guy's Legends was a great experience! We went on a Sunday and saw a fantastic group (Roger's Band?). Really good players with a talented vocalist (Judy)
Had some really good drinks while enjoying the music and the iconic guitars and decor!
Really quality staff! I bought a couple of shirts and the gentleman at the counter informed me Buddy was in town and would be greeting customers and signing shirts later. I had the honor of meeting Mr. Guy and having him sign my shirts. That was so cool. Buddy Guy is an iconic American and true legend!
We absolutely LOVED our experience at Buddy Guys. We caught some local talent early on a Sat eve, had a drink and soaked in the history displayed on walls and in photos under the bar glass. Musical museum!! Bartender was awesome and made a limoncello spritzer- atmosphere gorgeous.
Went on 4/29/24 for the first time. And when I tell you it was so worth it. There is a $25 entry fee that trust me is so totally worth it. The Band playing that night was from Memphis and they were top notch! And to all our surprise, Buddy Guy himself was there. Towards the half way point he made a appearance and oh boy was we put in for a treat. He did about 4 songs along with the band. Amazing night! I had the catfish tenders with fries they were good but overshadowed by the amazing performance. Drinks were good as well. If I could rate it 10 stars ???? I would. I absolutely loved this place
We had a great night. I've wanted to come to Chicago and have a drink at a blues bar forever, and now I can say I've finally ticked that off my list. The service was good, the food was good and the atmosphere was perfect. We saw Ghalia Volt perform and she was fantastic, if you don't know her, give her a follow on Spotify. Buddy Guy was in the building and performed a couple songs with her. He was also available for pictures which we took advantage of. We had a great time and would highly recommend Buddy Guy's Legends.
Expect to be swiped with a metal-detecting wand for security when you enter. Kind of weirded me out a little, but I was also grateful for the security.
Unbelievable!!! The music, food and ambiance was out of this world. Joe Doyle and Jamiah Rogers and the Dirty Church Band. If you haven't heard of them make sure to look them up.. incredible! The piano player sat in with the 1st band and played with the 2nd and all of us were completely blown away with his skills! Don't get me wrong...the singers, guitars, bass and drummers were fantastic too, but he definitely had mad skills!
Food was top notch and our service was as well. They know how to make corn bread fo sho! We were surprised when the name on the sign showed up and sang a few songs!
If you like the blues you should come here. If you LOVE the blues it's essential that you come. The memorabilia is great, cigar box guitars, Buddy's Grammys and pictures of him receiving a medal from President Obama. Then there are the gifted guitars from rock and blues stars on the walls over the 2 bars. The prices are very reasonable and some good merchandise to acquire. Buddy might just show up also! But even if he doesn't he gets great other artists and then at the end of the main set he has people who wanna play come up. It's got a good atmosphere! Come to Buddy's and get the blues!!
I checked out Buddy guy's on a random Wednesday during my last trip to Chicago. Incredible atmosphere, great staff and service. Most notably was the quality of music! The musicians were incredibly inventive and put on a great show. Then someone mentioned that Buddy was in the house and he came up on stage, took a shot of cognac and sang a song!!! Buddy Guy is a living legend. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GO HERE IMMEDIATELY!!!
