I'll make this review as short as possible, because this experience was so bad,. I honestly want to forget about it completely.
We ordered the buffet. What wasn't bland and tasteless was overcooked and dried out under the buffet heat. The salad bar was so pathetic looking I didn't even try it.
Service was non existent. We were shown to our seat given a fork wrapped in a paper napkin with no knife, when we needed one our server along with the rest of the servers were huddled around the cash cash register, laughing and playing on her phone. We never saw her again until she dropped off the check. Our drinks were brought to us with no straws and never were we asked if we needed refills.
The atmosphere was sad and dull, no music, no ambiance at all and mostly empty(I'm guessing locals already know how horrible it is and are staying away).
My wife and I was here about five years ago when it was a Sagebrush steak house and it was fabulous. It is the total opposite now.
In conclusion, Stay as far away as this place as possible. I would suggest eating gas station sushi before wasting your money on this utter slop. 0 out of 10. Zero redeeming qualities.
Hungry travelers to the Cumberland Gap area, would do well to check out, newly opened Bubby's Barbecue, 912 N. 12th St, Middlesboro, KY. The restaurant features a well-stocked meat & vegetable selection fixed country-style. I sampled the fried chicken, ribs on the meat bar. While the chicken was a tad too oily, it was tasty. The ribs were good. My wife tried a favorite, chicken livers and was pleased.
The vegetable bar had good Kale, with a moderately spicy seasoning I liked. My wife enjoyed the grits. I was impressed with the veggie selection.
The desert area had about 4 choices of good Blue Bell ice cream - instead of the usual soft-serve mediocrity. I especially like banana pudding.
In short, this place offers a good value for the price. The buffet price, 14.99, includes a drink. The servers are friendly and attentive. The restrooms were clean.
I would not hesitate to stop here again.
Enjoyed the friendly feel of this place. I decided to go with the buffet instead of ordering from the menu. I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans & macaroni & cheese. Also had a salad. Got a senior discount. Better than fast food.
This was a huge disappointment. Food was dry, ribs were decent, but there was no dessert left at 7pm when they close at 8pm. I asked for dessert and they said, sorry we didn’t make any more (banana pudding). Butter was dripped on the floor, almost fell but caught myself. Won’t return unfortunately.
This is not what I expected from a buffet. The only meat available was pulled pork, pork ribs, fried chicken, chicken livers and chicken wings. Not enough variety. The salad bar was left to be desired with not enough condiments to put on a salad. I have to say that the dessert bar was just a joke. Definitely will not be going back.
I have been in the hospitality industry for more than 40 years. I have ran 5 star restaurants to small family restaurants around the country and in also in 90 countries around the world. This is probably the worst place by far that I have eaten . The service is terrible they completely forget about you. The food taste like it has no passion or no love in the cooking. Everything taste like it came out of can or old . No one checks the holding times

This was my fourth and last time eating here. This place was great when first opened. Went there on a Saturday the food was beyond bad. The only BBq was the pork and the server would bring out a tiny portion for everyone to the bar. Everyone was scraping the sides of the tub for more. I watched the server bring out the other sides she would place the new items on top of the old, so all the older food was very oily. Somehow the chick wings was completely rubbery. That same server was very rude to some little girl that was getting something at the bar without her parents. We basically just ate cabbage for the price of meal. When I was paying for the meal the lady asked me how the meal was and I said all of the above and she only said sorry and had an awkward smile until I left.
I'm not a fan of the dark room but the table service was excellent for an all you can eat buffet. Average quality on the food though we really enjoyed the chicken livers and greens that are hard to find done well anywhere. A bit pricey for the selection but we'll come back.
