One of my favorite salad bars around. This vast salad bar includes fresh queso, chips, redneck stew, county style chili, fresh fruits and desserts. Their smoked meats and bbq sauces are amazing. Great family place but also good for date nights. This time I gave their mega bloody mary a try. It knocked my socks off. So flavorful and yummy. It included a bacon wrapped jalapeno popper , steak, olives, bacon and steak all for 12 bucks. Let me tell you I got full off the drink alone. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive.
My husband had visited a Bubba Q's further south in Florida and was happy to see that Crystal River had one. Once inside, we were pleasantly surprised to see a small but full bar where we sat. The bartender was super friendly, and the service was super, too. The food was good. There were other options than just BBQ and a huge salad bar. When we are back in CR again, we will definitely be there.
We wanted to try some of Crystal River's bbq. We tried the Bubba baskets, the brisket and ribs. The dishes were filling and came with decent sides. I deducted two stars because the ribs and brisket were dry. If the meat was not dry the meal would've been much better. There was many good sauces to choose from for dipping the meats in. The deer butt decor on the wall was pretty funny.
This is a chain! I thought it was not. Service was awesome and it was nice to have a bunch of sauces to try. House made ranch was really good! I was personally not a fan of the BBQ or the sides but the wings are pretty good so that would be my vote. The watermelon crawl was also a great drink to try out. They have lots of seating inside and outside. They also have a big salad bar. Service again was great!!
The restaurant was nicely cooled and clean. Our waitress was attentive. Our food was just "okay". The meat was dry but there was several sauces to choose from. The salad bar was pleasantly fresh. Our appetizer of fried green tomatoes was pitiful, no sauce and very generic.
My biggest pet peeve was the silverware. It was wrapped in an unnecessary plastic wrapper. We're a water front community, the absolute last thing that should be in one of our local restaurants is single use plastic. When needed it is understandable but the side containers were also plastic. You're already washing dishes. Please consider this in the future.
I loved sticky bones ( very bony no meat much, be aware ????) with barbecue sauce . Bean was too sweet ???? and the salad bar was plenty and fressh ❤️
My hope for Florida BBQ has been restored. I saw the smoker stack billowing smoke upon entering. Immediately knew this place is for real. Greeted by very nice host, and even nicer waitress. I ordered an ice cold Stella as usual and after scanning the menu I ordered the combo meal which contained a pile of pulled pork, quarter chicken, 3 large St Louis ribs and Mac n cheese on the side with a piece of Texas toast. The table has a rack of about 10 different sauces to your liking. The food comes well seasoned and it's up to you to add the sauce which I love, so i chose them all ! They were 100% professionally smoked and delicious. There's a ton of food to choose from so choose wisely!
When we got there they were clearing off a table for the six of us. Our waitress Brooke was hustling around like we were the most important people she'd seen all week. We ordered drinks and appetizers, then later the main course. She brought it all out in a very timely way and checked on us throughout the meal bringing more drinks before we even knew we needed them. I ordered the Big bubbaQ dinner and it was great but my wife said her ribs were dry, maybe overcooked although tasty. They do have a full bar and we were able to get a margarita. Everybody was friendly. Brooke was awesome.
