Our waitress was an absolute delight. Very friendly, the service was fantastic. A great small town restaurant with a hometown feel.
The hand breaded fried mushrooms are deliciously perfect and came with the house ranch for dipping. I will say they are the best fried mushrooms I have ever gotten from a restaurant. Pictured is a full order, I could not finish them all so brought some home for later. I decided on the 8oz hand pattied hamburger which came on a buttered and grilled bun. All of which was cooked to perfection. This place is a southern Illinois gem. I am a definite fan and look forward to trying their other menu items. I wish I would have had room for dessert because the pastries I saw looked amazing. They also had a large selection of pies listed.
I drove here from New Carlisle, IN, to, among other things, try Brunzeez fried mushrooms. I was intrigued by their mushrooms because they resemble the best fried mushrooms I have ever had at a Carbondale restaurant no longer in business. I am pleased to say they did not disappoint!!! These are a little bigger, a little more moist and not quite as seasoned as the others but they hit the spot! If the others were a 10, these are a solid 9.2. I will be back!!!

As a youngish alt dressing person I got some stares. That's pretty normal.
Good cup of coffee, and a nice crowd. They make the gravy from scratch and they have lots of pie.
I'll be back a few more times.

Great swvice from the waitress during a sleepy Saturday afternooon. Had a horseshoe which was so-so, but a chicken dish that was very good. Also had the dessert which was very good
Food was amazing! Service was wonderful! Will definitely be going back!!! The loaded baked potato was so delicious!!! Fried pickles are a must!!!! Nice, homey feel. Really enjoyed our visit!
It was my first time here, and it was pretty crowded for a place in a small town. I had a Harvest Salad and it was a lovely summer salad. Everything looked good as it passed by our table. Whatever you do, be sure to order the fried mushrooms. I'll be back!
