First time visiting as we are from out of town and staying at the Brown County Inn in Nashville, in for the week.
My husband and I stopped in for breakfast right when they opened @7am on a Monday morning.
The restaurant is small and has that hometown restaurant feel to it. We both ordered coffee, I had the meat omelet with rye bread and my husband had a veggie omelet with sausage patties on the side. Breakfast came out in a timely manner and was hot. The waitress was friendly and checked on us several times.
If you enjoy checking out local spots to eat at, I would recommend this!
** Keep in mind it is closed on Thursdays**
Wife took me here on our way down to Nashville. She has lived here all her life never once stopped in. Wife had the omelette and a biscuit with gravy, I had the club sandwich both were great. The club was stacked high as you can see from the picture. Everyone was so friendly. Definitely a place to stop at if your headed in that direction.
This place was just... not good.
It was confusing to begin with. You would think there would be a sign to either say "seat yourself" or "please wait to be seated," but there wasn't, so we just stood there, awkwardly waiting for direction. After a few minutes of standing there, the waitress finally told us we could sit anywhere. With the amount of visitors that constantly visit Brown County, a simple sign would be nice.
Our waitress, Ashley, took her time coming to our table to take our order as she was on her phone worried about someone getting her child sparkling glitter boots like Lainey Wilson (she had her entire conversation on facetime) ????
I ordered a grilled cheese and tots. My husband ordered a pot roast sandwich and tots. We ordered hot pepper cheese bites as an appetizer.
The cheese bites were deep fried pepperjack cheese squares served with ranch. They were just ok. Cooked too long for our liking, but to each their own.
My grilled cheese had WAY too much cheese on it. That's my fault because I didn't read the menu closely enough to see that it came with a whopping 4 slices of cheese! It was way too thick. Our tots were cooked perfectly. My husband said his sandwich was too fatty.
We've always wanted to try Brownies as we pass it every time we visit Nashville. We experienced it and I think we'll take our business elsewhere.
Dry laid back and down home feel. Exactly like a family restaurant should be. The food was excellent. Don’t skip out on the mancakes. Prices are very good and food is even better. I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
This place embodies the old school dinner. Every dish i have had here is obviously homemade and delicious! Turkey and noodles reminded me of grandma's. The coconut pie being homemade is not overly sweet but was the best i have had.
This little restaurant is the perfect mom & pop place for good ol' home cooked goodness. The parking lot was full which was a great indication we picked the right place for breakfast. We were invited to sit where we choose and quickly greeted by a very pleasant waitress. Our food arrived in a more than reasonable time considering the place was full an was absolutely delicious. I was very surprised to see our waitress handling everything from serving food, bussing tables, cleaning, sweeping up to running the cash register. All while still managing to keep up with drink refills and making sure everyone was enjoying their meals. We never had to wait for her service which she presented with a big beautiful smile and cheerful attitude. A real super hero lol. This little place is a true gem!! We were lucky to have found it while on vacation.
Small town diner atmosphere. We went for the fish fry Friday, and it was well worth it. $13.75 for all you can eat fish. Comes with fries or tater tots, cole slaw, and hush puppies.
They also have amazing pie desserts.
And service was top notch.
Brownies is always consistent/good food! New owners are great at keeping variety and quality. Best strawberry pie I have ever had!!!! Tried the gator bites today, those where great too! Servers are always polite and welcoming.
