First time checking them out! Great food, service and atmosphere! I gotta try barbecue weekends next! I love the full size plates! Huge portion sizes. They also give 3 sides and bread with entrees! Well seasoned food at a reasonable price.
I come alot. I love the food here so much that I don't even leave the parking lot without finishing my plate. Supposed to go home and eat comfortably but I call myself taking a bite in the parking lot the keep eating. ???? I usually get the same thing tho. Smothered chicken plate. Today they burnt my Mac and cheese but it was still good. Cornbread nothing to brag about. Collards and dressing was decent and the chicken was a little overcooked but seasoned good. Red velvet cake was ok. A little pricey but they give big portions sizes. Not stingy. Overall decent place tho. I be forgettin to leave a review because I be stuffing my face.
Let me tell yall something. I really didnt want to do this review simply because I'm selfish when it comes to good eatin! This isn't just a hidden gem this is a secret location for people to eat like there is no tomorrow. The staff is the greatest! The food is hot delicious and abundant. My wife and I ate leftovers til Tuesday! I was a bit upset I couldn't finish in one sitting! Try it all and you will not be disappointed!
This soul food really hit the spot!! I got smothered chicken with potatoes, mac n cheese, candied yams and corn bread…all for $9. Everything was really yummy, I finished all but the bones. It’s also very filling! I will definitely visit again to try other items.
There is an inside dining area which is currently open and a few seats outside as well.
When I tell you this little hidden gem is a place to visit. I saw this location on Tik Tok and decided to give them a try seeing that they’re black owned. And when I say this place owe me nothing. The food was well season and hot my baked chicken just fell off the bone. The portion serving is worth the money. The atmosphere was relaxing and they were playing our old school music that was a plus ❤️ I felt right at home. When I say the service was professional and they were very very friendly. The restaurant is very clean which to me was another plus. My husband and I have now marked this place as one of our favorite spot we do plan to visit again and share them with our friends and family. I wish I could more than 5 stars. Trust when I say you will not be disappointed.
Ok. Hear this. If you want to discover one of the best kept community secrets in Riverdale, then this is the place for you to try. This restaurant is tucked away . You may need Google or call ahead to place your order and simply ask for directions. Generally, my husband and I would share a plate when we try a place for the first time. Not this time. Everything looked so fresh and delicious, We were enticed to get separate plates. This is Soul Food yall. We received so much food. The plates were so heavy in the bag when we walked out the door. OMG . We had two extra plates leftover after we pigged out. Lord have mercy. Did I mention they cater. Oh, THANKSGIVING right around the corner. This meal was delicious! I had collard green yams, dressing, Mac and cheese and bake turkey wing. I will recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a good soul food dinner. It wasn’t to salty or greasy! Thank you brown soul food & catering! ???? this was my first time eating here. I will continue eating here when I want some good soul food ????????????????????????
First time eating here on yesterday June 2. My friend said you get a lot for your money and the food is really good. When we pulled up there I was little skeptical...Didn't look like much from the outside, but when I got my food it was sooo good, seasoned well but not much and was so much it made two meals. I ordered the turkey wing with dressing and cranberry sauce and for my sides I got green beans and yams, and a corn bread, all for $6.50. The employees were nice and friendly. Do not miss out on this little treasure. There is not a huge selection but enough to get some good choices. Its best to do take out because there are only two small tables if you try to eat there.
