The bridge is in surprisingly good shape mostly due to a weather resistance roof. I’m no structural engineer but it seems like it could hold traffic. A quiet Place the sound of running water and items bouncing off the roof. This must have been a way to go back in the day. There is hardly any trash thing about the planet of graffiti
Rustic and old covered bridge. There is a spot for parking and unfortunately there is a lot of trash around. I guess some people just can't pick up after themselves.
Stopped there with a friend. Walked across the bridge, then hiked down to the creek & done our own personal photo session bc it is so beautiful & the covered bridge is so well preserved. It was so relaxing!
Fun place to take the kids and the dog too cool off on a hot day
The 129-foot Brown Covered Bridge spans the White Oak Creek, which is the principle river draining central Brown County.
The Bridge was built in 1878 with a Smith Truss. The Brown Bridge was restored in 1960 by the Brown County Highway Department. The Bridge is a single span resting on stone abutments. The exterior exhibits a white tin roof naturally weathered wood siding.
The Brown Covered Bridge has been bypassed and is only available for pedestrian traffic. Unfortunately, there are guardrails at either portal and they are difficult, if not impossible, to step over. As of April 3, 2021, the area was strewn with broken glass and the deck was full of leaves. As of the above date it does not appear that anyone loves this covered bridge. I hope to edit this review in-the-near future.
Love this bridge, it brings back so many childhood memories from when I used to visit my Aunt!
Cool bridge still in good shape
I love to see old places & thangs from the past. Just to see how different if anything has changed,or to see how life is so much easier for us now than back in
