Had a BBQ craving and Bronx Soul Food did not disappoint. Ordered the BBQ chicken with potato salad/Mac&Cheese ???????????? 2 bites in, I had to take the photo because I WENT IN! Will be trying the ribs next time.
I had a great interaction but the quality of food can be improved. Didn’t like the face that it was cash money.
I ordered Baked Turkey Wings, Mac N Cheese, and Yams from Bronx Soul Food and this is what I received the last time I checked Baked Turkey Wings don’t have a sauce on them via delivery from them using DoorDash. Per my dasher stated that he was told from the person at the restaurant that my food was going to leak out of the container.. Poor packaging (container) wise for food and I called the restaurant someone answered, no response but you can hear them breathing.. I hung up and called back busy signal.. I made another attempt called restaurant again no response and instead of being able to leave a message you can’t because voicemail is full…. Poor Customer Service as well..
I had chicken and it was nice and juicy the Mac n cheese was real good the sweet potatoes just right. I love it. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends
I’m not here to bash so please take this review from me humbly. I’ve had this restaurant food before and it was good the last time I tried it. So I decided to order again from them tonight and well I was highly disappointed. I ordered the jerk chicken, peas and rice and collard greens and the chicken was hard rice and greens had no flavor. Also the curry chicken Mac and cheese and collard greens. Chicken was full of skin and bones like it was the last of the last, Mac was very pasty tasted very fake, greens no flavor. Now I understand it’s late and I would’ve rather they’ve canceled the order instead of giving me that food tonight. The only thing good from my order was the side of candied yams.
Got the large whiting dinner. The fish was old, stale. The Mac and cheese was tasteless and the so called candied yams was boiled sweet potatoes with no seasoning. The wings were good and delivery was fast. However will not be ordering again.
The serving size is terrible. Why am I ordering a Turkey wing and receiving nothing but rice cabbage?? I used to be a loyal customer, but after this I will never order again. This is the second issue. Y’all need to do better. Order at your own caution
My husband and I wanted to try something different for a change. Normally I would order through Grubhub but decided to order through Uber Eats. After browsing through different restaurants we decided that we were going to eat soul food. We decided to give this restaurant a shot. I placed my order for fried chicken, mac & cheese with collard greens and my husband decided to order baked chicken, french fries and mac & cheese. We also ordered corn bread.
Shortly after placing the order I received a call from the restaurant that they did not have any fried chicken. I was given the options of choosing between baked or BBQ. I was confused because normally soul food restaurants are made to order. I told the lady I'll take fried shrimp instead and I'll pay the difference. She then proceeded and put the manager on the phone. He explained to me that he cannot do that and I would have to call Uber to make the adjustment since it is over the allowed amount to make changes. After conversing for a few minutes and me inquiring when the chicken would be done, a time around 9:30ish (PM that is) they should be finished cleaning and cooking the chicken. At this time it's about 8:10pm. I said ok cool, I'll wait.
I get a call from another manager stating that they do not have fried chicken and I was given the same options as earlier. I explained to the lady I spoke with another manager who told me that the fried chicken would be ready at a certain time. This lady had a little attitude. I told her it's fine I would just cancel my order because this is just ridiculous and I hung up.
I began calling Uber support and as I was calling Uber support i saw the restaurant was calling. I took the call. It was the Manager I spoke to earlier. He apologized and told me that it was extremely busy and that they would have the fried chicken. He again offered me the same options as earlier. I told him that I do not like BBQ chicken and I don't order baked chicken in the streets. Long story short, he persuaded me to get the baked chicken and that I would not regret it. If I regret it, I would get dinner for the family. He even threw in two Sunkist sodas.
My food come and it looks just like the picture. I didn't not care for the food. The mac & cheese did not taste like it was made from scratch, the collard greens was a bit on the sweet side and I did not like the chicken. The chicken was a bit on the salty side. In addition, they forgot my corn bread and my Sunkist sodas.
I gave it two stars because that guy really got me to step out of my comfort zone and order that baked chicken. Plus my husband said it wasn't too bad to him. I've personally had better soul food. I will not be ordering from here again.
