This place was a very nice spot to celebrate my sister in law’s birthday. There were about 25 of us for this gathering we were asked to choose from Prime Rib, Chicken, or the Crab cakes. Hubby had the prime rib,I chose the Crab Cakes which were pretty good. However the green beans were not cooked and had no seasoning or flavor at all. They did bring a plate of asparagus for the table since everyone didn’t care for the green beans. All in all it was an experience and I love experiencing????.
Went here today for an early Mother’s Day lunch and enjoyed it! We sat on the patio by the water and it was a bit cramped. The high top table chairs are not very comfortable but the food was excellent! The wings were big and flavorful and the fried chicken sandwich was SOO good! Service was attentive but the only drawback was someone smoking on the other side of the patio which obviously lingered to our side. I probably wouldn’t go back simply because I don’t care for the smell of cigarettes or how it leaves my clothes smelling, but if you don’t mind that you should check it out!!
Had a wonderful Easter brunch on the Veranda with my family. We had a reservation right when that section of the restaurant opened, service was very attentive and food came out so quick! They were so accommodating with our toddler and the views were wonderful. We saw multiple trains going by and our daughter loved seeing the geese on the river. Great kids menu, I had the crab cakes and husband had the eggs Benedict. All were piping hot and delicious. We will definitely be back!
Stopped here to have dinner while taking a weekend trip to Fredericksburg with my boyfriend. The hosts were great with being prompt, professional and respectful. I appreciated letting us experience the heated outdoor area prior to deciding inside or outside. We ultimately decided inside because it was a way better vibe. Let’s talk about the food though. I loved the sweet potato waffle fries and the stuff shrimp with crab meat but I need more protein so I ordered a crab cake. Honestly, the crab cake was okay. It had more crab and less filling but it wasn’t the best in flavor and size from other restaurants. The small salads were good. The mash potatoes were also over whipped as well. Our server was okay but they never brought me my lemon and didn’t place my dressing on the side like I asked. Overall, it was an okay experience.
The food? Amazing. The drinks? Amazing. The service? Amazing. We can’t remember our serves name but she had beautiful red hair and was phenomenal. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and super quick.
Absolutely gorgeous views of the river. Great atmosphere. Exceptional service from all staff from the hostess to waitress. Bacon wrapped scallops were divine and I thought they had a bourbon maple glaze taste to them. My husband and I both loved them and while there were only 4 you only needed to eat 2 because they were exceptional! The mini crab cakes were also divine and eating 1 1/2 each was also enough because they were outstanding! I'd rather have less exceptional food than more average food. Then my Salmon and Goat cheese salad with fresh cut strawberries and sliced almonds was so fresh and delicious that I couldn't have had a more perfect meal! I highly recommend this restaurant!! My husband had ribs and he said they were good. He ate 1/2 and had the other 1/2 to take home so he got two meals in one. The only thing I didn't care for was they charged $4 for a glass of sweet tea. I thought that was a bit high. They also charge 3.49% fee for processing a credit card payment, but that is becoming the standard these days it seems.
Derrick gave us excellent service. He was attentive to our needs. We never had to ask for refills on our beverages. He continuously checked on us in case we needed anything. Derrick was also very pleasant and personable. Our food was delicious and cooked to perfection. We love Brock's Riverside Grill and have being dining there for years.
Great relaxing place to eat. Had a large group and service was outstanding. Highly recommend the HoHo dessert and the ribs.
