Seem like nice guys, but don’t trust them with larger jobs. Charged us for work that another mechanic demonstrated they did not actually perform. Asked us to bring it back “under warranty” but since they never performed the work to begin with, that would be even more foolish. Expensive lesson.
After damaging my car, I sought multiple quotes and opinions on the best way to repair the damage. The first two places I got quotes from were very friendly, however, provided excessively priced quotes and were difficult to work with based on scheduling they offered.
I called Broadway Tire and Auto seeking a better opinion and quote with more flexibility in repair timing and he had me come in for a quote an hour after calling as opposed to scheduling me. He was very friendly, approachable, and gave a quote that was way more affordable than either first two places. He scheduled me for the repair in just a short few days to coordinate with the painters, who were also very nice and good at their job. My car as a newer, less straight forward pain but they found the exact paint and painted it well.
On the day of my repair, I dropped my car off and they went above in beyond in making my experience getting to and from the shop painless. They are perfectionists and while they had done a very good job, they asked if I could bring it back later in the week as the paint would be completely dry by then and they would work on it even more. I am beyond pleased with the repair, painting, and the service I receive and cannot recommend Broadway Tire and Auto enough.
This is the best local mechanic shop in town. I’ve been a loyal customer to Rick and Kevin for the past 8-9 years. They are honest and offer a few options when you have to consider a repair. They do great work with integrity and care about their customers.
Brake job needed. I am sure it's not cheap anywhere. But these folks have been here for decades and they got it done in a day. Polite and good customer service.
Brutally honest & so fair I wish there was a Broadway Tire & Automotive in every county in Texas & every state in the United States.
Kevin De la Garza & his family & crew have kept my collection of antique autos rolling in circumstances that would try the patience of saints - let alone master mechanics with hundreds of years of collective experience.
I've had USAA tow me over fifty miles & paid the difference to get a vehicle to Kevin instead of other closer in network garages because Kevin doesn't pull any punches, works just as hard as the newest mechanic on his roster, and his mom keeps the office ship shape. So I've never worried for a second concerning legitimacy of any repairs, estimates, or the quality of any parts required.
If you find yourself on Broadway in San Antonio Texas & your vehicle isn't cooperating, don't hesitate to pull into the purple garage north of the Pearl just past the Fountain at Mahncke Park, but before the Witte Museum. (If you pass the Central Market heading North, you've gone too far.) They do what it takes to get you back on the road safe & sound.
Best service and price I have experienced in years. The experience reminded me of how it used to be when we only had neighborhood garages. If you need help, this is the place to go to or call.

I was referred to them by the good folks at the Valvoline Oil change shop in Alamo Heights. Ruben and Rick were able to discover and diagnose not only the initial problem, but another one they found while doing a complete evaluation of my 2002 Ford Thunderbird.
They fairly priced both repairs, offered their professional recommendations and provided options for each. Outstanding service placing the customer first and everything else second.
I'm very new to San Antonio (August 2022) and wish I had known about Broadway Tire & Automotive before I was gouged a Ford dealership on the northside of town!
