We were going somewhere else for breakfast but they were closed when we came across the Broadway Family Grill. It’s on Broadway just south of Cass on the West side.
The building is pleasant looking and well designed. It reminds me of retro diner as did the inside décor. There is plenty of parking including handicapped and wheelchair accessible.
The inside is designed with plenty of room between tables so you aren’t on top of your neighbors.
America was our server, very friendly and helpful about the menu as well as the history of the restaurant. It has changed owners recently and she described the current owner in glowing terms.
The menu is extensive as you will see, and breakfast was what we ordered. It was exceptionally good, reasonably priced and just enough to fill you up.
This place is a gem, we enjoyed it and will come again to see how good the rest of the menu is. You should give it a try.
This helped continue our fun family time together for the weekend, we've been to so many new places, and ran into this corner family diner!
Our waitress was Terri and she was doing wonderful, allowing us time to view the many choices throughout the menu, we appreciated her patience and got our drinks quick.
Food was cooked to order, fresh, our cook looked like he loves his kitchen and every plate that came out.

Very clean, family friendly local diner on Broadway St. In Bay City's south end. It has the appearance of an old school diner with some modern appointments. With a large menu, and breakfast served all day.
Staff is friendly and attentive.
Kitchen is semi open, and very clean.
Food is not pretentious, excellently prepared with huge portion size. If you walk away hungry, it is your own fault. This is true mid-American comfort food.
Dinner arrived quickly and was steaming hot.
Dinner, sodas, and appetizer was about $23/ person. This would be much lower, but I ordered the conflicted Reuben. (Totally worth it!)
Value is excellent due to the quality and portion size. Enjoyed coming in very much, and am looking forward to coming back for breakfast.
I ordered for pick up. This was my family and my first time eating here. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were good, and we didn't have to wait forever for our food. There were no mistakes and everything was as ordered. When I went to pick the food up the staff was very kind and the restaurant was clean. The menu options are HUGE they have literally everything you can imagine and breakfast all day. I can't wait to eat here again!!!
Delicious! We tried Broadway Grill for the first time tonight and loved the food. I had corned beef hash (my all time favorite diner food, so I was delighted when I saw it) and my husband had the special, which was a meatloaf dinner. Everything was cooked wonderfully and it felt like the food was made with a lot of care. Very clean inside too! Owner and staff were also incredibly friendly! After a long day at work, this hit the spot and the chill, relaxed home-like atmosphere was a breath of fresh air. We'll be back for sure, my only regret is that we didn't try this place out sooner. We loved it.
This is obviously a family owned and run business. The teenagers need more work experience as staff, but they seem to have good leadership behind the counter. The food is really good. The gravy has a lot of pepper in it, fair warning. The food I had was breakfast food for dinner and it was made fresh. This place has a lot of potential. Give it a try!
Updated review: much better than before! I had stopped here when the restaurant first reopened with new owners, and it was subpar. Today however, it's a night and day difference. The servers were very attentive and friendly (previously they didn't care), the food was good (previously it was mediocre), even the cook wished me a good day when I left! There is music playing now (previously it was dead quiet) and the restaurant was clean (it had some to be desired before). It looks like some of the growing pains have been working themselves out. The manager and staff showed a focus on the customer that wasn't there before. As a former restaurant General Manager myself I can appreciate seeing those values instilled into the team. The only criticism I have is the gravy on the biscuits and gravy had a slight lemon flavor to it.... Could use more pepper. Overall, much much better than previous.
Higher quality than the previous owners for sure.
They have a very diverse menu, and some friends of mine love this place. I feel this place never wows me, but been there several times with no critical complaints.
